The food was good but the service was very, very slow. Had to keep asking where our food was and been told we under staffed does not really go down well. Looked like everyone from the grandfather to the grandson was brought out to wait that day. The bottle neck seemed to be in the kitchen and a quick look in there revealed only 2 staff in there. The setting in the garden was very pleasant, the staff very friendly and willing to please, but they need to be better manned in the kitchen if they wish to up their standard of service.

We stopped here for lunch while enjoying one of Hawke's Bay great bike trails. The setting is lovely, the waitresses charming, the food delicious but the service way too slow. We waited close to an hour for our burgers. Fortunately the wait was worth it as they were wonderful. Suggest people order a day before they are ready to eat. We'll definitely be back to see if they have fixed the glitch.

Loved the whole experience, the ladies very friendly and gave the cafe a lovely homely yet dignified atmosphere since it is in a secluded area off the main road. The food is delicious and well presented.family friendly too. would love it if it stayed open later in the evening for meals but it is a cafe so cant expect anymore than what they give which is lovely.

Set in park like surrounds near the beach just a few minutes drive north of Napier this cafe is a real find. Meals and cabinet foods are prepared fresh daily by their very talented chief. Everything is reasonably priced, coffees are excellent. Staff & service are exceptional.
