This is a great little market for sourcing fresh and gourmet produce at very reasonable rates.
Some delicious treats available from game pies to sweet nothings and everything in between.

These farmers markets have sprung up all over the show. I was quite enthused initially, as I thought it would be a great place to bag a bargain of good quality products. Not really the case - don't get me wrong, the quality is supurb - but I sometimes wonder if this is just another high-priced outdoor version of the new elite supermarket chains I'vbe noticed popping up in the main cities of the country. Not an affordable place to come, and I really don't think there was one farming family vendor there...not a gumboot in sight!!

This was a great way to start the day with bread, salmon mouse and figs. There was lots of choice of fresh foods, cheeses and fruit. Good for sourcing a picnic.

We easily found the Napier Farmers Market, as it was within walking distance of our central city accommodation.
Fresh coffee, plenty of breakfast choices, beautiful fresh local produce.
This region has a enormous array of produce on offer, stone fruit, olive oil, cheese, heirloom vegetables, smoked goods, plenty of organic specialties, cheese, wine, flowers, meats, small goods, baked goods, smoked paprika...list just goes on and on....

The perfect start to a Saturday. Grab a great fresh organic coffee followed with a Berry Best Bacon on ciabatta sandwich. then if you're a cheese addict like me I recommend Hohepa Cheeses (Cumin seed & tasty) The Smoke Hut (smoked cheese) and Origin Earth (Cow Feta). Then grab the best seedlings for your garden, lots of heirloom varieties. Of course there's the fruit wine and vegies you'd expect.
