We visited on a Saturday afternoon and got there just in time to see an engaging video from earthquake survivors. Then downstairs to the earthquake exhibit and a friendly staff member providing some additional information and interpretation for us. The rest of the gallery was pretty hit and miss, we cruised through it quite quickly as it didn't really engage us. Overall fairly average, you'd have to work hard to get value from the $15 admission given what's currently on show.
