“Weekend in Napier”
Reviewed 25 September 2013

Nice place to stay and explore Napier. So handy to the central business area with many outstanding bars and cafes with close walking distance in Ahuriri.

Room was nice, clean and comfortable with views over the sea and toward Bluff Hill.

Only trouble was that every thing seems to change come night time. The attached bars attract many and departure time is noisy with many of the patrons a bit worse for wear. Some of the language would make a sailor blush, to the extent we had a person on our balcony yelling abuse and obscene language back and forth to street users. Very threatening.

Clean up this activity and i would have no hesitation in recommending this place for families.

By the way the fish and chips next door were great.

Room Tip: The top floor provides great views

Thank you for your review. We are in a very handy location so we are pleased you enjoyed the area. Unfortunately we do not have control over people leaving bars and causing a ruckus. We have on site managers who can be called for any concerns or complaints guests are having once reception has closed. We do hope to see you again

I have been making frequent trips to The Bluewater for several years. The location is second to none with the fantastic views and very close to all the amenities one could wish for. The Ahuriri area is an amazing part of the country. Why travel overseas when we have places like this here in our own backyard. With cafe's, restuarants, specialty food shops and quirky little places to browse in. There are a number of excellent walking paths linked to the Hotel which take you around the beaches, Port, etc. The rooms are well appointed spacious and comfortable. The on site facilities are excellent. Best of all are the amazing staff!! and I mean all the staff. Reception, Room Service, Bar & Restaurant and Management. I have had nothing but the friendliest most helpful service from them all. They are a cheery bunch who always make me feel welcome. I feel totally at home here and look forward eagerly to each return visit. My wife and I used to visit together prior to her death and I was unsure as to how I would feel returning alone after that. I am so glad I did. A huge thank you to everyone at The Bluewater. I totally recommend this Hotel to all and sundry.

Cheers

Peter Madden

Me and my partner went to Napier for the weekend from our home Wellington. We stay at The Bluewater for 3 nights. When we arrived the reception staff was so lovely and both her and the manager Jane went above and beyond to make us feel welcome even pointing out a couple of good restaurants in walking distance. On Friday night we had dinner at the hotel's restaurant the Quayside which has awesome views of the harbour and the veinson entree was delicious!
Our room had an enormous spa bath in it and was clean and tidy.
Would highly recommend loved the spa and the staff the most.

Room Tip: make sure you get a spa theyre lovely!

Last weekend my husband and I stayed in the Bluewater Hotel in Ahuriri Napier. We had a two bedroom apartment on the top floor that was beautifully appointed with modern decor, and was clean and tidy. The lounge and kitchen area were well stocked with everything we needed for our two night stay, and we had absolutely magnificent views over the port from the lounge and deck. Our bedroom also had this stunning view, with all day sun. The first evening we stayed, we had dinner in the adjacent Quayside restaurant which was very nice. Proximity to other facilities in Ahuriri is only a short and interesting walk away in this wonderfully historic part of Napier. Would love to return sometime soon.

Room Tip: Our room was situated at one end of the venue, close to the restaurant and sports bar. When we retur...

Thanks for your tip. The restaurant now has new owners and are more respectful of our guests.
They close the door way to the balcony at the side of the hotel at 9.30pm
Hope to see you again next time you are in Napier

Fantastic facilities, great staff & an excellent atmosphere. Highly recommend for a couples weekend or even just a trip with friends or family. Fun little golf course great for some (easy!)competition, competent staff with great knowledge of the area and the rooms speak for themselves. Amazing views, peaceful and quiet- enough to make you never want to leave. Highly recommend would stay there again in a heartbeat.

I stayed at the Bluewater twice last week, once in the two bedroom appartment then in a superior studio. I found both units well above average, very comfortable furnishings and tastefully decorated. Both units had great views over the marina, The front office staff are to be congratulated for their friendly and helpful attitude, Jane and Nicola. Myself and friends dined at the Bluewater restaurant the food was out of this world, try the seafood chowder and the lamb you won't find better. Good price too.

I ceratinly would recommend this Hotel if you want good service and a nice place to stay.

Room Tip: All rooms face the marina, the two bedroom appartments are well above average and it's like a ho...

spent the weekend with my family in one of Bluewater's Two Bedroom Apartment, the apartment was great, was spacious and was a home away from home for me and my family.
Room was very clean and had fabulous views of the marina from both the balcony and the master bedroom.
Staff were all very friendly and willing to go the extra mile for us, the onsite minigolf course was a bonus as it kept the kids busy for a while.
Also found the onsite restaurant to be very handy as we didnt have to go far for great food.

Will be keeping Bluewater in mind for our next stay in Napier.

Room Tip: Pick the top floor apartments
