We did this trip early in December, we were very impressed with the clean, modern boat. We were lucky there were only 7 people on our trip, so we had the run of the boat.
Unfortunatly the dolphins were not in a very playful mood so we didn't get to swim with them but we saw plenty. The crew taught us lots about the dolphins and their behaviour, I was so happy we weren't stuck on one of those over crowded dolphin spotting boats. We went snorkelling before lunch, had a BBQ lunch on the boat and spent the rest of the afternoon lying in the sun with the sails up wtaching the beautiful surrouundings and looking out for interesting wildlife. A great day trip and good value for money.

We had a brilliant female Captain/Skipper. She was so funny & brave & kept us amused the whole time. The weather was perfect & we saw dozens of dolphins. A wonderful experience.

We had a perfect day out with Carino NZ cruise today ! Saw some dolphins and penguins, had a nice lunch in a fantastic spot. The Carino crew is awesome, friendly and very knowledgeable. Great boat, very stable and extremely clean ! I like the fact that you only get to swim with the dolphins if all conditions are met for the dolphins, Vanessa & Bruce & the rest of the crew take dolphin conservation very seriously and have a real passion for what they do. A must do in the Bay of Islands, cannot recommend highly enough !

We did this trip yesterday and had a wonderful time. Vanessa and Scott were great - professional, enthusiastic, knowledgeable, relaxed and very friendly.

We saw a pod of about 25 dolphins with a 2 week old baby. They were resting and we stayed with them for a while just enjoying being around them.

We stopped off at Roberton Island for some swimming, snorkelling and lunch. We did the climb to the viewpoint on the island and the views were spectacular so it's worth making the effort to do the climb to the top. We felt that we had earned our lunch after that and it was delicious and great value at only 6 dollars each.

After lunch we set off into the Bay of Islands again and came across the same pod of dolphins, this time feeding and much more active. We saw the baby being looked after by another female while the mum was fishing. Vanessa and Scott knew many of the pod members and gave us lots of interesting information about them. We also saw blue penguins and many other seabirds.

The sailing was wonderful and peaceful with no humming engine to detract from the surroundings. The boat was spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean with plenty of room for everyone to get a great view.

We are so glad we chose this option over the other more crowded boats and would recommend it to anyone. Thank you Vanessa and Scott for a special day!

We left Paihai wharf at 0930 and were lucky that the weather was sunny, warm and the sea like a mill pond. After about 45 minutes we saw a pod of dolphins with a baby and they swan right up to the boat and leapt out of the water, it was an incredible display. One of the large male dolphins spent a long time scratching his back on the rudder so we were able to take some wonderful photos. We moored in a bay where there were some juvenile dolphins and we tried to swim with them but easier said than done. We had two attempts but we didn't get really close to them, but it was a great experience. We had an hour in the island and walked right to the look out at the top and had a magnificent view, it is well worth the effort. Then back to the catamaran for a barbecue and salad, delicious. In the afternoon we sailed and arrived back to Paihai at about 1545.
Vanessa, the skipper and Scott are very friendly, helpful and pass on lots of information. The boat is spotless with a bathroom and an area for storing bags and clothes.
I would thoroughly recommend this trip to be near the water and really up close and personal with the dolphins and the penguins.
Very good value for money.
