Our guide Doug was the proprietor of the bus firm and very knowledgeable. He took us to places off the general route to Cape Reinga giving us plenty of time to enjoy the walk down to the Cape. He provided sand boards for some of our party to enjoy boarding down the enormous sand dunes. We managed to drive the whole length of 90 mile beach and see the "hole in the rock" The best value for money for a great day out

On the whole it was a really engaging day with good variety of activities. Designed for young couples and not family or older couples. The weather wasn't great and to start the bus was 20 minutes late, we stood in the rain. Then when the bus arrived it was not an Awseome branded busy and was quite shabby. However as the day went on and we were told it was ok to eat in the bus and as we went on the beach it got sandy, the we all tucked into fish and chips on the bus so I can understand. It was an absolutely brilliant day worth every penny, it's the cheapest bus ride to 90 mile beach that is available. With sand boarding (boards provided), a kauri walk, fish & chips as well as the kauri museum & gift shop not to forget Cape Regina & driving the full length of 90 miles beach. Recommended.

This was a really good day. We made lots of stops on the way to and from cape reinga. The first stop was to look at the huge kauri trees, these have to be seen for the size of them to be believed. Our guide was fun, sang Maori songs and told stories which I found very interesting and explained a lot about the history of Maori culture and traditions. We drove along 90 mile beach, which was seriously long, a lot of beach to take in and then we stopped off at a huge dune, had a demo of how to sandboard and then we will hiked to the top of the dune. In groups of 2 or 3 we threw ourselves down the sand on our boards. It was so much fun and not difficult at all! This part of the tour has to be done with an organised tour as it is not possible to drive along the beach. When finally reaching the lighthouse, it was beautiful, very touristy but it didn't take away how traditionally special this area would have been. Also seeing the 2 seas clashing and meeting was cool too! A great day out, I highly recommend this tour. We returned to Paihia for 7pm. Wear clothes that you don't mind getting wet when sand boarding (some damp sand and puddles around!) and take lunch as the stop at the fish and chip shop is on the way back to Paihia.

We had a great trip to and along 90 mile beach (actually about 90 kilometres). Body boarding the sand dunes looked exhilarating but us oldies stayed at the bottom and tried to film the youngsters on the mobiles they had given us. Do not miss this outing. You will not see the like again (I don't think!). Cape Reinga is a magical and seemingly spiritual place. Just stay quiet and soak up the atmosphere.

Hello there,

Your review got us wondering about beaches of the world, and whilst Brazil beats us to the title of the longest beach - we still think that ours is very special!!

It's wonderful to hear that you enjoyed your day, and thank you for taking the time to share your experience.

Happy and Safe travels,
The Team at Fullers GreatSights.

It was a long day but filled with lots of history, visiting loads of sites and finished off by a stop for outstanding fish and chips.

The kauri tree stop was informative and interesting. Ongoing commentary by the guide was fun. Driving on 90 mile beach was incredible. Surfing the sand dunes was exhilirating if not a bit dangerous. Plan to be covered in sand. Bring a towel!! Bring entertainment for the bus ride.

The stop at Cape Reinga was unfortunately rain-filled and uneventful.

Overall a fun way to see and learn about the northern tip of New Zealand.
