“The best hostel I have been to”

BBH is always a little dirty and noisy. But Seabeds is quite quiet and clean. Comfortable. Such a lovely place to stay in Paihia with great sea view. You can go to beach enjoying sunshine in two minutes! It's fabulous! Anyway I love it so much! If I have chance I will stay here again for a short holiday!

There's not a lot to say about this hostel because it is definitely the best hostel on the north island. It is extraordinarily clean and new and it's more a hotel than a hostel. The kitchen and the living room are very cozy and comfortable and it is easy to meet other people. Go to this place, you will not regret it!

Stayed there for just one night, but my dad stayed there for another week.
Great place, very friendly owner.

If you put the bed itself aside (which was not bad either), you could probably sell the rooms as hotel standard.
The double room ensuite was very big, the bathroom clean and the common facilities were pretty new and high standard.
Only slight deduction could be that you have to walk a bit (10-15min) if you want to have a selection of bars. But therefore it is very quite and the beach is close.
I recently saw that the building in front was taken down, so now most of the rooms should give view to the sea (at least until something new is built)

Overall:
Can recommend the place very much and the studio room (in which my dad stayed) was a real bargain.

Seabeds is a lovely backpackers with great views of the sea. The lady that runs seabeds runs a tight ship. The rooms are well decorated and are immaculate, that goes for the well equipped kitchen too. There is a separate TV room to the dining room and kitchen. Had a cute little town with a ferry across to Russell.

Room Tip: Upstairs rooms have sea views.

I spent two nights here in one of the shared rooms. I can only confirm the nice reviews. Place is brand new, spotless and very well thought. Beds are incredibly comfy. Wifi is available on purchase. You can see the sea from the balcony. It is 10 min from the centre, but near supermarket and bakery. Would highly recommend it.

Seabeds knows it is good and wants to stay on the top of the list for backpackers. I stayed two nights and found the place exceeded all expectations. Clean, good room, fantastic bathroom, communal kitchen and lounge just superb all at a great price. It more than competes with any standard motel in NZ at half the price.
All of the above created a great ambience for the guests and I had had two lovely nights as a result
If you can get in: just go there. You wont be let down.

Room Tip: 5 star backpackers and better than most standard motels at a backpacker price.

Me and a friend of mine have choosen the place, because it has a great rating at bbh (bbh.co.nz for infos) and we wanted to relax the last days in New Zealand. It tourned out that it was a great desicion.

The hostel is well designed and celan also there are no bunk beds and even the dorms have an ensuite bathroom which is very clean. The location was great because it was quiet and next to the beach and only about a 10min walk to town and 5min to the supermarket.

The kitchen is really good equiped (we baked a lot because it was raining) and got cleaned twice a day.

The only thing that was really annoying is the kitchen door, which should get fixed, because it is hard and loud to close it. Also one day there have been ants in the kitchen (the staff cleaned everything that day and afterwards it was not a problem anymore).

Fazit: Great rooms for a good value!
