Our ensuite room at the Falls Motel could not have been better. Right beside the swimming pool and BBQ area, and only 10 metres from the spot to see the waterfall. Staff were very helpful, A short drive (or walk) down the hill to the camping ground below gave plenty of parking and wonderful views of the river and waterfall.

reception was clearly marked, adjacent to the carpark, and with temporary parking right outside the door. A delightful place and we will surely return.

It was our first camping trip in New Zealand and we booked the campground approx October for the peak Christmas holiday season. We arrived the day after Boxing Day and the campground was slowly getting packed.

The campground provided everything that we needed for our 5 days trip away e.g. clean shower and toilet facilities, a kitchen for washing facilities and a laundry facility. Apart from that it also has powered sites if you wanna charge up any devices. I was also impressed that the site has good internet connection to the 3G network.

It is a gated site so only those that are paid guests will come through. It also asked for your group's age range when booking to ensure that the campground is not flooded with young kids trying to party hard.

We were both very impressed with this campground and are already planning to come back next Christmas with our family.

Thank you to the host for being helpful and also organising some entertainment for the New Year Eve countdown.

Definitely recommended to anyone thinking of staying near Paihia... its not too far only 5min drive to the nearest Countdown and Caltext petrol station.

My daughter 13yrs and I went for 3 nights camping. Amazing, had a absolutely wonderful weekend and the weather was brilliant. The campground was great with views of the falls from the tent site. My daughter had great fun kayaking in the river and swimming in the pool. Already planning for next trip back there :)

Stayed here one night with a motorhome. Great campground on a beautiful location. We were early to arrive and could pick our spot. We had a brilliant view on the lagoon and falls. The campground is small but has decent facilities. Toilets and showers were clean. Nice BBQ area with a view.
There is a small playground for the kids and was also suitable for small children.
Would definitely stay here again.

My daughter and I stayed at the camping site for 5 nights. Melissa and Todd were excellent hosts. They were very helpful with Todd helping by arranging activities to Melissa helping with a personal problem(where I had to make a quick dash to Kawakawa Hospital) My daughter and I felt very safe as the camping ground is secure. The facilities were excellent, from great warm showers to a practical kitchen. We enjoyed kayaking, marshmallows on the fire on the beach, kicking the rugby ball around watching the sun set etc I could go on and on. I am currently in the process of booking to go back here over xmas as I reside in Brisbane, Australia, this is my dream get-away. I would really REALLY recommend staying here.

We arrived late afternoon of 4.10.2013.
The camp was almost empty, and we parked near the water.
The water was dirty, but the waterfall looked Very beautiful.
After sun set, the place was dark, not a singl light in the area.
To go to the toilet we needed a flashlight.
The toilet was very simple and make a shower was not pleasant.
I"m sorry, but the place is not as we expected.

We were very impressed with Falls motel and campsite. We stayed in the campsite and we were very happy with the facilities provided - toilets, warm showers, kitchen with fridge and hob, laundry, and bbq area. The best part about this place is the view, you really can't beat waking up to the view of the Haruru falls every morning! You can also take canoes out onto the lake. Pete was so friendly he could not have done more for us, he helped us book onto tours and gave us friendly advice, even picked us up from the town after one of our trips and took us back to the campsite. Definitely recommend.
