Perhaps a little long winded for younger children. We enjoyed the tour with a guide and loved the comments and history he gave us. The kids 7 & 9 wanted it to run a bit more quickly as some of the stories were a bit long for them. But for adults this is a great New Zealand site to visit

“A must for all New Zealanders”

Waitangi is a very special place and worth visiting if from NZ or overseas. The grounds are beautiful and the wharenui (meeting house) is amazing. Our guide was knowledgeable and had a connection to one of the chiefs who signed the treaty.

I suggest a tour guide to explain the detailed history of the Maori. Worth every penny and a beautiful grounds on which to take photos. Provides insight on the rich, but very recent, history of New Zealand.
