The cafe on the pier where the boats leave from sells the most delicious cakes and fresh sea foods. Staff were cheerful and friendly and very helpful and patient when people kept popping in to ask them about boat trips, where to go, buy tickets etc.

From Marsdens Cross at Oihi, to Kerikeri, Paihia and Russell, and inland to Mangungu, Waimate, Pakaraka and Ruapekapeka Pa are a history of the early Missionaries to New Zealand. Marsden gave a message on the 25th December, 1814, 200 years ago. This is situated in a beautiful setting of sea and islands.

A beautiful relaxing spot, close to amenities and shops and providing access to the various cruises and ferries.

Paihia Harbour is a great base for tourists. Accommodations and eateries everywhere. You can get the ferry to Russell and lots of boat tours start here. There is also a site seeing helicopter that lands right at the harbour.
Very busy with limited parking.
Markets are areal treat when the cruise ships are 'in'.
