These falls are near to the Waitangi Treaty Grounds and we just took a short drive to them. They’re wide, in the shape of a horseshoe but there’s not a particularly high drop and when we visited it was only the centre section which had water flowing. We were able to easily walk across the rocks which at other times may form part of the falls when the river is at higher levels.
The attraction is alongside a road bridge and near residential properties so lacks setting. There is an area to pull in off the road into woods and the access path is only a few hundred metres to the falls from here.
Not overly impressive but worth a stop if in the area.
