We stayed two days at Louisa and Cliff's "Bed of roses". It was just wonderful. From attending to our late arrival to the wonderful appointed french cottage and the nice dining room with a great view out on their veranda and rose garden .
The breakfast is 5 star! Cliff is cooking with a lot of love and perfection. Louisa has an impeccable taste and strives in everything to perfection. Especially the table setting and interior decoration. They are wonderful hosts and we thank you gain for the wonderful stay we had with you! All the best!

Thank you for your wonderful review. We were most delighted to host you at our property and your visit gave us much pleasure and brought back some amazing memories of your visits to New Zealand of many years ago when you were promoting eco tourism in this country. You are inspirational guests.

We are a family with two daughters (14 & 11). The highlight of the stay was the interaction with Cliff and Louisa who are friendly, attentive, interesting, helpful people. They made a spectacular breakfast each morning where we felt that we were part of their family.

They have a strong flower / garden theme and have cultivated a wonderful garden.

They helped with restaurant reservations and recommendations -- Pear Tree and Whairepuke were both wonderful.

The rooms were nice and comfortable and pleasantly appointed -- nothing overly special about the rooms but very nice.

It's just over two years since our last visit and we enjoyed our stay every bit as much as the previous times. Cliff and Louisa are superb hosts, offering help and advice without being at all intrusive. There have been many comments about the breakfasts which are delightful both in taste and the way in which the table is presented. Each morning it's a little bit different, always extremely tasteful and elegant.

The gardens are beautiful and the whole ambience is one of good taste and restfulness.

The perfect place to unwind and relax whilst seeing some of the beautiful sights of the Bay of Islands. We look forward to returning.

We visited Cliff and Louisa at Bed of Roses at the suggestion of the proprietors of Ascott Parnell in Auckland (Bart and Theresa). This was a wonderful recommendation. The location was spectacular and Cliff and Louisa are great people who are very caring and accommodating hosts. The inn is in Kerikeri a charming little town just north of Pahia and with a distant view of the ocean and bay of islands. The inn sits high up on a hill with expansive views. All the rooms have great views. Others have already commented about the breakfast so I can only add WOW! the food is great and the table setting is out of the best style magazines (looks like a cover for Martha Stewart or Southern Living-if those are familiar to you). You cannot find a nicer place to stay, more comfortable quiet rooms and nicer garden or more gracious hosts. This is a 6 star B&B!

Room Tip: Any room would be wonderful. There is one room with windows on three sides for all encompassing views and another with a full kitchen also with good views.

We wanted a relaxing, indulging and uplifting place for a couple of days to enjoy our wedding anniversary. We couldn't have chosen a better place. The setting has a delightful vista. Louisa and Cliff were fabulous hosts; friendly, welcoming, helpful, caring, willing to provide any assistance, but unobtrusive. The French Cottage was impeccable, yet very comfortable, restful and charmingly furnished. Our breakfasts were impressive, delicious and beautifully presented. At the end of breakfast we thoroughly enjoyed friendly discussions with our hosts. It reminded me of an enjoyable visit to a favourite aunt and uncle.
