“Wonderful stay with a even more wonderful and lovely host!”
Reviewed 9 July 2011

Firstly, my apologies to Vivien for writing this review only now.. Been busy since I got back from our NZ trip!

Needless to say, the stay was wonderful, we booked both rooms and they were perfect. We love everything about the house from the living / dining area, patio, rooms to the lovely hostess Vivienne. The rooms were immaculately clean and well-furnished. Breakfasts were great as well.

Now on to our lovely hostess, she made us feel right at home at her B&B and we had our lovely night and morning breakfast chats on the 2 days we were there.. She offered us lotsa of good suggestions on the must-visits in Rotorua and gave us an insight to her life in Rotorua as well.

I would highly recommend this B&B to everyone intending to travel to Rotorua!

We had just 2 nights here but wished we could have stayed longer. The room was immaculate, the en-suite bathroom had everything you could want.
Vivienne was the most attentive hostess, with amazing local knowledge, she encouraged us to visit one attraction we didn't feel we had time for, and wow it was everything Viv said it would be.
The breakfast was plentiful, homemade jams, wonderful cooked breakfast.
Little touches were so much appreciated, Viv made sure the heater was on in our room before we returned in the evening, she made us tea and gave us cake when we arrived after our 13 hour flight and 3 hour dive, Perfect..
Thanks again Viv

Very cosy, warm and clean, delicious breakfasts, and very personable chatty hosts. Also loved being so close to the Whakarewarewa (Redwood) forest - just 2 mins up the road = )

Vivien is a lovely hostess with a beautiful B&B which was "purpose built" for her guests which includes a den, dining room and a patio along with clean, comfortable bedrooms. Vivien is an expert on the area and works hard to make sure you see the highlights of Rotorua. The breakfasts are delicious and generous. A great 3 night stay!

My other half and I stayed here for one night in April and really wished we had booked for at least 2-3 nights. Vivien was a wonderful hostess and acted as our personal travel advisor, helping us choose what to do and booking our chosen option for us (including giving us a 10% discount voucher).

We had been reluctant to stay very long in Rotorua, given its reputation for the sulferous smell, but we didn't find it to be off putting at all, and B&B @ The Redwoods is located on the edge of town where it didn't smell at all. It was also on the doorstep of the Redwood Forest, and we had a lovely walk on the morning that we reluctantly had to leave.

Breakfast was superb and we really enjoyed our room. We would definitely stay here again and book for 3 nights the next time!

We spent two nights at B&B @ The Redwoods. The property is cosy and well maintained with a charming little garden at the back. Our room was nice and Vivienne had already had an extra mattress or our 6 y.o. son prepared when we arrived. In addition to a great breakfast in a comfortable dining/lounge area for guests, Vivienne provided several ideas and suggestions for what we could do around Rotorua. The property while being about 5km from Rotorua town is right next to the magnificent redwood park. A wonderful stay and the hospitality was special.

This was my son first experience with B&B. I found this place purely by luck. When I arrived at the visitor center in Rotorua. This B&B is highly recommended by the visitor staffs. It turned out to be a perfect place to stay, especially with teenage boy. We were treated like part of the family. We got to know the host family and other guests staying at the B&B. My son and I had a wonderful experience and you will not be disappointed.
