This was the first place we stayed on our honeymoon in NZ and wow, what a warm welcome! Vivien and Peter were so helpful in advising what to do in the area which was great since we hasn't planned any activities. And It was nice to come home each night to a clean and cozy room, and then wake up to have a lovely hot breakfast made to fill us up for the day! Best yet, Vivien and Peter were caring for a friends baby lamb while we were visiting and Vivien let me feed him in the morning! Such a fun experience. I would definitely go back here if we ever make it back to NZ! Thanks so much for the hospitality!

We traveled in July as a couple and found this B&B to be a huge highlight of our trip around NZ.

Vivien is an extraordinary host. She provided some lovely hot drinks and cake when we arrived, she got us settled in wonderfully.

She provided a great deal of wonderful recommendations when we didn't know what to do and also got us fantastic discount bookings for the specific activities that we did want to do.

Once, when we didn't know whether or not our White Island trip would be cancelled, Vivien contacted the company early in the morning for us and was ready to cook us breakfast at a moments notice early or allow us to have a sleep in if it was called off. It was unfortunately called off, though we got a great sleep in and a scrumptious breakfast to our liking because of Vivien's amazing skills as a hostess.

The room was impeccably clean, comfortable and well appointed, situated in a wing secluded from the main residence which gave us wonderful privacy to feel at home in.

Bed was very cosy and the room was spacious. Bathroom was great.

The Redwoods nearby are so beautiful and there is absolutely no sulphur smell here. It isn't right in the centre of town, though a lot of activities provide a shuttle and the few times we caught a cab wasn't expensive at all.

We had a wonderful time celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary with Vivien and Peter at this great B &B. The breakfasts got us off to a great start and our hosts were so helpful with getting us to the odd locations that we requested for visits. We hope that we can return again...and make that less than 40 more years!

We were only able to stay here for one night, but I'm so glad we did. When we booked the room a few months ahead of our trip, we asked for a recommendation about a Maori cultural dinner, and Vivien said she'd be happy to work that out for us when we arrived. We ended up having some weather issues during the day, and arrived later at the B&B than anticipated. Vivien had remembered our desire to see the cultural dinner, and had set it up for us ahead of our arrival since we were cutting time short. Since we had also missed the van pick-up to be taken to the Mitai village, Peter drove us out there himself. We never would have been able to make it happen on our own, and it was so nice that they took that trouble for us.

The room was very comfortable, and the property is beautiful overall. We had a nice breakfast the next morning, and Vivien was again helpful giving us directions for our next stops. We were sorry we only had one night to stay here, and would definitely stay here again next trip to NZ.

Our stay at B&B@Redwoods at Rotorua was one of our more memorable stays during our trip to New Zealand. The rooms were tastefully furnished and the bed was extremely comfortable. Vivien is an excellent host and always had good advice on places to visit in Rotorua. Her breakfast of eggs, toast and bacon always hit the spot before a day of sightseeing. The B&B is also conveniently located a few minutes away from the places of interest while being situated away from the smell of sulphur in the area. All in all an excellent place to stay and we will definitely stay there again when we are in Rotorua!

My friends and I lodged at Vivien's B&B just last month in winter and I must say that despite the wet weather, Vivien made our trip an unforgettable one! Coming from the Gold Coast, we were impressed by Viv's spacious rooms, heated beds, thick blankets and most importantly her cordial hospitality. It was really chilly as it rained cats and dogs but Viv's beds were so cosy we ended up staying in a couple of nights! We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast that Viv did - those pancakes and poached eggs were a winner! Viv was a great host as she was always willing to recommend places for sightseeing and was quick to settle us in. The Redwoods is also a stone's throw away from her B&B and everywhere else is really about a 5-10 minute drive so this is the perfect accommodation. I particularly enjoyed her garden as well - it really is a pretty little place! I'd highly recommend Viv's B&B to everyone - it's a hidden gem and I'd definitely come back to stay when I'm in town.
