This is an older motel, it is clean but could use some updating. We had booked a studio room with hot tub but were disapppointed to find the tub was a concrete bowl and was not appealing. The beds were way too soft. There was a lot of noise from the pipes that provide thermal water to the hot tubs. We wanted to do laundry but all machines except one dryer were out of service in the guest laundryroom. However, the location is within walking distance to the city centre and shopping mall. This was the only motel on our journey where we had to pay the full amount on check-in.

One of the hot pools was out of action during our stay in February and the other was dirty. The outdoor pool was good, but its surrounding overgrown and untidy. The road noise was too much for us - but otherwise it was very central and affordable.

Have stayed here many times through work. Have always enjoyed my stay as beds are comfy, and rooms are adequate for the length of time spent in them. As others have said it is an old motel in a prime spot. I do have to say that the new manager we met seemed lost and they didn't take control of the noise makers at 1 to about 3am both mornings. Rooms tidy & clean & exactly what I needed to sleep.

Older complex Unit was very large size and seemed to be part way through a refurbishment Priced at the lower end of the scale and this seemed appropriate given the age and decor of the motel

Handy location for central city, quiet and fully equipped - even a full size stove

Staff seemed to lack experience and knowledge

Older style motel but clean and well located so you are able to walk to many places. The 2 mineral pools are very nice and private We chose this motel for its location, mineral pools and price and we were very happy with our stay. The cooked breakfast on our last morning was delicious. Lynda asked what we would like and even went so far as to shop especially for ingredients that were not normally available to make us a special meal. A word of warning though. The managers are about to be replaced and we felt that it was Steve and Lynda that contributed greatly to how we felt about the motel. We would be reading reviews carefully before we chose to stay there again.

Room Tip: Unit 20 is upstairs and further away from the other units and quieter. A bit further from the minera...

Our first impression was a downgraded very close to the road motel, although the rooms were spacious. The first evening already we were attacked by an army bugs from the carpet while watching TV, nasty biting bugs, which took weeks to heal. Kids running on the first floor screaming out loud for hours. The bed and the table were rocky and stopped one from sleeping properly. The ongoing noise of a commercial washing machine somewhere in the building together with a noisy fridge and the ongoing noise of the traffic, made it not the motel of my choice.

We have stayed at this motel on numerous occasions and as always enjoy our stay. It is an older motel but is great value for money. It is handy to everything in town for restaurants, supermarkets and shopping and Kuirau Park which is free is just down the road. The swimming pool was a little cold this time but the mineral pools are brilliant. As always we enjoyed our stay thanks to Lynda and the team. See you next time.
