The staff were friendly and welcoming, Bedroom was tidy and clean. The bathroom I believe was forgotten as attention to details wasn't accomplished. My partner and I, found some stains on the toilet seat and on the bathroom floor and wall. Location is very good, quiet from the road but not quiet from other people. The pool was facing our room so we would get all the noise. Parking is good, lots of parking all around and behind the hotel. The location of the hotel is 7 minutes away from City Centre so if you have a car is great but if you don't, you are doomed! You can walk but it would like 30 minutes. The only near by stores are Animates (Animal store), Gull petrol station, a liquor store and a dairy. Restaurants and shops are all in City Centre. We mostly enjoyed at the hotel was the warm Spa and the cold pool that is all.

The staff here were warm, welcoming and helpful. Everything within their control was good: easy check in, clean room, responsive service, etc. However, the layout of the hotel results in a poor night's sleep. The parking and pool are all in the central courtyard, and all rooms have windows and doors facing this hub of noise. Children played and screamed around the pool hours, and you could hear everyone coming and going in their cars. The walls between rooms were so thin I could hear every word of my neighbours' conversation. It was difficult to sleep here, despite the relatively comfortable beds and kind staff.

Room Tip: Probably Ok for families with kids but not good for someone looking for a full 8 hours' sleep

Thank you for your feedback, we are very pleased to hear about your pleasant experience with our service during your stay at our hotel. I apologise for the disruption caused from the pool during your visit unfortunately we try our best to mitigate the noise issues by enforcing strict timings around the use of the pool in order to allow for a respectable nights sleep but as advised sometimes falls out of our control.

We hope to welcome you to our property again in the near future and thank you for the time taken to post you review.

Really nice hotel on the west side of Rotorua. Nice big clean recently decorated room plus fridge and work surface. Separate toilet and bathrooms, unusual in a motel. Good sized pool and spa. Too far to walk to the restaurant area in Rotura so went by car.
Parking at hotel a bit chaotic so someone else's car might be outside your door.
Would stay here again.

Rotorua tip - if you are here on Thursday night, eat at the night market. Food from all over the world served

Room Tip: The main road is a bit noisy. Ask for a room away from the main road

We have stayed in many hotel and motels but I must be honest this was one of the biggest
rooms for the price paid. Very spacious room with separate lounge.
We received free voucher for WIFI, only 24hrs and the system is bit confusing.
You need to log out otherwise you loosing you precious minutes.
There is docking station with radio (Sony) next to your bed. Very cool indeed.
Overall enjoyed the stay and would recommend especially to families with small children.
There were couple of things I wasn't completely happy with.
The carpet in the lounge was badly stained, also our booking stated 12pm checkout but we received phone call from reception around 11am to hurry up. Not cool at all.
To sum up !! There is always room for improvement.

Thank you for the feedback and suggestions, which we will address according to your comments. I appreciate the time and effort taken in placing your feedback. I apologise for the inconvenience caused in regards to the confusion in check out time. As a standard out checkout time is 11.00am and I am most certain if your travel documents stated otherwise there maybe in error with our booking agent. If you can kindly advise me on this I would like to contact the source and alter this in order to avoid future confusion with our future guests and hopefully yourself.

We look forward to welcoming you again at Leisure Inn Rotorua.

My friends and I stay in budget hotels/hostels when traveling (to afford more trips!). I don't need or really expect a lot from a hotel... comfortable bed, clean, good pressure in the shower. But this hotel (motel) really exceeded expectations. We picked it for the price - we got $61 a night on hotels.com. It was both the cheapest lodging AND the best on our 3 week vacation in New Zealand. Big spacious room, two very comfortable queen beds, separate kitchen area with fridge, coffee maker, tea/coffee, nice bathroom. The manager gave us free internet cards; enough for 4 days for both of us to use our own devices. Off-street parking. Nice pool and hot tub.

We thought breakfast was included and so had it the first day but it was $10 a person. Our fault for not checking/assuming and they were nice enough to let that go. Breakfast NOT included. Very friendly and helpful staff.

It just recently changed it's name, so our navigator took us to "Mercure" and we thought it was wrong but it had been renamed.

Thank you for your detailed feedback. I am please to hear that we made such a positive impression on you. The size of our rooms, range of facilities and of course the heated pools tends to be a highlight for most of our guests.

Indeed we have undergone a few exciting changes under StayWell Hospitality Group and we look forward to welcoming you throughout New Zealand at one of the new brands, Leisure Inn and Park Regis.

I stayed in Mercure a couple of nights. The staff was friendly, room was great. The only drawback is the distance to the town's center (about 30min walk), but with the public transport it was not that big of a problem

Thank you for feedback, great to hear that you had a lovely stay with us. Rotorua city ride runs every half an hour during the week and every hour during weekend last bus goes at 6:30 pm everyday and great thing is the bus stop is right outside Leisure Inn.

Looking forward to welcoming you again sometime in the near future.
