The owners of two years Raymond and his wife Emily are excellent hosts. The rooms are old fashioned but they are very warm, cosy, clean and comfortable. Really can't complain for the price.

The novelty of having on-site "indoor" and "outdoor" Japanese style hot springs is a really fantastic and unique experience. Raymond allowed our group to use the hot springs out of hours late at night. I'm quite sure if you ask they'll arrange this for your group as well.

As far as I know this is the only motel with inbuilt Japanese hot springs on the North island of New Zealand. This motel was originally owned and run by an elderly Japanese person but have since retired.

Raymond and Emily are both lovely people and will assist you as much as they possibly can to ensure that you enjoy your stay.

I personality enjoyed my stay very much and look forward to another visit.

Very friendly owners and adequate rooms. The rooms are not luxury. However, the Japanese pools are the best I soaked in while in the Rotorua area. It was easy to walk into town and access the restaurants and stores. I would stay here again.

I liked this resort's environment and design. You will see big red tree in front of gate and nice japanese style black door into your room. The room was big enough actually we were 2, but can join 4people as well.!
Heater in room was good warm. Duvet and Blanket as well. Highly cleaned. Both Indoor onsen and outside onsen were amazing experience to us. Owners gave us info to advice my tour. :) Finally Reasonable price and valuable stay !

Wonderful host and hostess who made us feel very much at home and gave us tips on what to visit on a budget or for free in the Rotorua area. The special part of this stay was the access to a mineral pool under the stars (separate times for men and women) or private mineral pools if desired. After soaking in the waters, our skin felt like silk and we slept like logs. Highly recommended, a great deal, accommodation which includes what Rotorua is famous for, all in the same price.

The resort is centrally located within short walking distance to Rotorua Centre and shopping centre. This allows us to stock-up snacks, fruits and necessities easily.
Though it has only 12 units accommodation, it is homely decorated, relaxed and comfortable. What makes this resort outstanding is that it has a large authentic Japanese style mineral onsen pool and two other smaller private hot pools. The large onsen pool operates on hourly time slot alternating between ladies and men. It is so rejuvenating and one can feels very relaxed and unwind after a dip.
Raymond & Emily Lam are great hosts too. Raymond has a great knowledge about the local and surrounding areas and had recommended great outdoor spots for sightseeing; like the Red Woods, its stunning beauty captured our hearts.
Emily on the other hand made us feel like home, relaxed, informal...and is a great cook. We are a family travelling with elderly and young children and are tired of eating out along our journey and she has offered to cook for us… yummy lamb, delicious soup; very home cooked food.
Though our stay is 3 days only in June 12, we did feel warmly welcomed and had a wonderful time, thanks a lot to Raymond and Emily. We will be back this Dec12.
