We had been to this restaurant before for dinner and not that impressed. New Years Day friends asked would we like to dine out for lunch. We choose Solace, infact being New Years Day we did not have that good a selection of restaurants open in "Eat Street" They were very busy and we had a fairly long wait for lunch. The chicken was a little bit dry but the dressing made up for it. We all choose salads and they were very nicely presented and we all enjoyed. We would certainly return for lunch not sure about dinner.

The Thai Beef salad was the worst ever. In fact, couldn't be eaten. The fish was grey and tough. The bread for the sandwiches was so old it shattered when you ate it. Even the drinks were unimpressive, lacking fizz and volume. Will never go back here!

It was a busy night when we visited this place and they seems understaffed. For drinks we ordered some fruit juice and some water but the waiter said he would bring the water as soon as he could find a bottle. "It is just so busy and we run out of bottles"! The food was sent to the wrong table (next table) but that was quickly sorted out. Our risotto was a bit soggy, Cajun seafood pasta needs a bit more salt and chicken in the Caesar salad was overcooked. I asked for a spoon to eat the pasta with but was told they run out of spoon! We ordered 4 dishes but only 3 arrived. The waiter apologised that he forgot to put in our salad order. Suggestion... Next time you go to the restaurant, bring your own water and spoon!

WOW absolutely amazed at "Eat Streat" (play on words) what a selection of restaurants to choose from! We read the menu out the front and was seated. We had garlic bread as a starter, the way it was presented made all the difference to this popular starter. I had the seafood basket, my partner the seafood linguini, both brilliant mains. LOVED the fisherman basket, succulent scallops, perfectly cooked mussels, tender calamari, fresh fish and the light tempura batter on the prawns the best I have ever had. Finished our meals with desserts just so we could try the "Rotollo" - filo, liquorice & strawberry = voila! And I had the raspberry pannacotta equally as nice! Wonderful dinning experience, lovely, friendly, accommodating staff.

Went to Solace tonight and they had no worries seating the NINE of us without a booking! The food was amazing but not quite amazing as our waiter. It was only his second night on the job but it was some of the best service we have had. James is amazing and definitely a great asset to that place! Every restaurant needs someone as bubbly and friendly as him! :)
