It's difficult to put in words how Mick and Teresa made us feel during our absolutely marvellous stay in their lovely home. Home, because they really made us feel like home, relaxed, informal...They are wonderful hosts...sorry, wonderful friends, if I may, helpful...they know everything there is to know about Rotorua, so we had the most of our 4 days there. I miss their amazing breakfasts- fresh everything, fruit, eggs, homemade bread, delicious smoothies, everything to perfection...They would join us for a cup of Teresa's unbelievable Irish Coffee, chatting into the night on you name what topic...
Teresa and Mick, thank you for making my leave from NZ much more difficult!!! Hope to come and stay with you again!!!

This is the best place ever! The best place I ever stayed at in NZ.
It is home away from home and so much more. We were really impressed and my european friends could not stop talking about this house.
Mick and Theresa are fantastic hosts and they go the extra extra mile for their guests.Breakfast in the morning is actually a...feast with several courses and it is delicious to the last bit.
We even had a special movie night in their cinema room -all organized by Theresa and Mick on my birthday. Snacks , wine , Irish coffee ( a must have as Theresa makes the best one)
and a good movie- and it was the perfect ending to a perfect birthday celebration.

Mick and Theresa,a very warm and sincere thank you for the extra effort you guys made to make things so special on my birthday.

I would go back over and over again...I would even move there permanently. The only regret I have is that I haven't tried Mick's dirty martini.....but....that is just another reason to go back next time.

Thank you,
Madalina and Liviu

Thank you so much Mick and Teresa for a making our stay amazing. My finance and I stayed here just after NYE in 2012 - and it was just what we needed. I'd really recommend anyone staying in or near Rotorua to stay here, it's a beautiful relaxing retreat. The breakfasts are out of this world, and the owners make you feel so welcome. Thanks for introducing us to Red Breast Whisky!
We really enjoyed the place, and it was really good value for money. We had to leave for our next stop in NZ, but we felt we were leaving too early!

We had our own little house in the garden. When we arrived we were invited by the hosts to have a drink in the B&B's little bar (we went for one of their whiskeys). Following morning we had the best breakfast of our whole journey! Fresh fruit smoothies, fresh juices, hot fruitcompote, self-made bread, eggs, porridge and so on. All fresh, self-made and delicious!

Mick and Teresa are brilliant hosts and made us feel so welcome. Sitting in their conservatory drinking tea and eating superb freshly cooked cake, having just arrived, was so relaxing. The breakfasts were magnficent too. I particularly recommend the fresh fruit smoothies and eggs florentine. Teresa even pegged our washing out for us as we had gone out for the day before it had stopped raining! We had a lovely garden room with lots of thoughtful touches, including bed socks! The grounds are beautiful and there is a swimming pool and a fitness/games/cinema room, though we were too busy exploring Rotorua to take advantage of them. Teresa and Mike are happy to share their extensive knowledge of the area with their guests, making phone calls and bookings where necessary. It was reassuring to know that they had actually visited all the local attractions themselves. When we were there, they also hosted drinks and chat before their guests retired for the night. A lovely place to stay!

This was an absolutely marvellous stay with Mick and Theresa making us feel extremely welcome in their lovely home in a superb setting. It felt like a home away from home, relaxed and informal with no expectation that we would be gone after breakfast, indeed there was a very positive invitation to make use of their house as a home. Excellent breakfast, prepared to pefection and good advice on what to do and see. Made use of the very efficient BBQ!

Room Tip: All rooms are good .

We cannot recommend Mokoia Downs enough!!! This was our first B&B experience and if the rest are like this, we won't use a hotel again!

Mick and Teresa are so lovely and really took care of us. Fresh baking on arrival (which Teresa kindly put in a container for us to take to the concert as we were in a bit of a hurry), immaculate rooms and the breakfast! My god! AMAZING! And they kindly let us have a lie in since we were out rather late(!)

The only downside to the trip was that we had to leave!

Thank you so much for your hospitality Mick and Teresa. Hopefully we can stay again next time we visit Rotorua.

Nicola, Monique and Irma :)
