Good for mountainbikers and walkers who enjoy to walk in a misty wood. Go to the top of the hill and have a view of Rotorua city!

“Breathtaking. Serene. Must-Go.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 May 2014

It's less than 30 minutes away from town. Parking is free. The public washroom is clean. There is a souvenir shop there as well.

What I loved about the Redwoods is that it is extremely beautiful (this is coming from a Malaysian, a country with one of the oldest and most beautiful forests in the world) :D you can either walk, walk your dog, jog or cycle in the forest - you may be 6 or 60, you will surely love this place.

My friend and I were probably the only 2 people who went there just to take photos and were not jogging. We just couldn't resist as the place is really breathtaking. Must go!!!

If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle this is the place to go. Tall trees, walking tracks, bird calls, views to die for. This is so handy to all the motels and hotels. Bring your bike and sample the many cycling tracks. The other beauty about it is that it is free. Wonderfull if you are on a budget. Nature at its best. Enjoy.

“Relaxing and beautiful nature”

This is the Forest near Rotorua where you go for walking, hiking or biking. The forest has good paths and offers awesome views onto Rotorua or the surrounding area. If you follow the "yellow path" from the maingate, you will be able to see the geysir's eruption ever 30-90 minutes for free!!!!!
Perfect 3-5 hours afternoon activity!!!!
