Description: BREW | Craft Beer Pub in Rotorua, New Zealand, is run by Croucher Brewing - Rotorua's award-winning craft brewery. We have a great selection of NZ craft beers on-tap and in bottles, we exclusively stock New Zealand wines, and have delicious reasonably priced pub-style food. We are located in the middle of the Eat Street restaurant precinct. BREW was named Rotorua's OUTSTANDING BAR at the Rotorua Hospitality Awards 2013 and 2014.

We walked in, after being denied service at Hennessy's Irish Bar for unknown reasons.

Our old mate and us ordered some desserts - cheesecake and a pavlova and had an awesome time chatting and catching up. The place was big enough to accommodate a number of people, but small enough to still feel intimate and personal.

While we don't drink, I made a mental note that Brew offers some speciality beers, which is always nicer than the generic Guinness.

Will be back one day to try the food.

Visited here last year and had a beer and some lovely homemade soup. Loved the atmosphere so went again on this years NZ trip for my birthday. Two of us ordered the pork belly. The pork was over cooked and the crackling you could bend. Couldnt eat it as it was very chewy too. We ordered the brownie for dessert and it was burned on the inside. Not sure how you achieve this. We were so hungry after a big day riding that we ate everything. When we complained after being asked by the staff how it was, they very kindly took the dessert off the bill. The young girl working there we thought was a little abrupt at first but we really warmed to her in the end as she was quite sympathetic about our bendy crackling. The guy that served us dessert was great about it being burned. The beer wasnt bad. We tried a few things. Maybe it was an 'off night' but the food wasnt great. Staff and beer good and atmosphere nice. I would like to go there again sometime just to see if it was just a one off experience. But good to know if there are any problems with the meals they are very helpful in assisting.

If that is what you want , then this is a happy place with a good atmosphere well worth a visit, in the middle of Eat Street in the centre of town. Indoor out door eating and probably the best beer selection in town. We had steak which was great but have to say that the potato mash on which they sat was only lukewarm which was a pity but which didn't overly affect the evening.
As is usual in NZ asked for a rare steak and it came medium rare ..
Nice night though and would go again

We only came for drinks (on two different nights), but we really liked the atmosphere of BREW. It had a nice selection of beers and seemed more of a low-key place. The bartender was also very friendly and chatted with us.

We went to the brew bar as it was recommended by people who live in Rotorua.
However 3 out of 5 of our party had the pork belly and were disappointed. The vegetables tasted of nothing and the sauce was salty. The brew burger and the scotch fillet however were more like we expected.
