Stayed in a twin studio lake room which had a nice view of the lake and overlooked Polynesian Spa complex. Good size rooms and comfy beds.

Had dinner in the on-site restaurant Nikau, it was okay but not amazing, however the staff were lovely. Very quiet on a Saturday night so that gives you a bit of an indication.

A chair or two on the balcony would have been nice so that we could sit outside and enjoy the view. Would I stay here again...probably, if the room was on special.

Stayed for 2 nights in a dungeon room. The door to the room was falling off it's hinges, there was a noise which sounded like a pet dinosaur stirring for its supper, and the walls were very thin so the noise from the group of kids on a school trip was not helpful for a good nights sleep!
Getting in and out of the bath/shower was like an obstacle course, OSH would love this...
Not a great representative for a premium part of our tourism centres.

Room Tip: Upper level rooms might be better?

Stayed 2 nights on a Rotorua break away with my partner. Recieved a nice upgrade on check in to a room with your own deck area and private spa. Was greatly appreciated and loved this added luxury. Yes I agree with some of the previous reviews stating that the property could do with a few renovations. However I found the rooms and hotel to be very clean and tidy. I encountered friendly staff. My partner and I also enjoyed a massage in the hotel spa. Staff here were great and we both left feeling fantastic! Great location, close to shops and The Polynesian Spa which is a must visit when in Rotorua.

Room Tip: choose room with private spa on outside deck

Came for a conference. The hotel is well overdue an upgrade. The foyer is directly out if the 1970s. Dark and old fashioned. Totally overpriced. The rooms are some of the worse I have ever stayed in. Very dirty and old fashioned. Noisy air con. Broken and chipped furniture and lamps, peeling paint, stained carpet, dirty stained grout and bathroom. Mini bar not stocked. To top this off the staff are unprofessional and inappropriate. Bad and rude check in staff and then was woken up at 11pm by a staff member delivering room service that was for another room. Grrrrr!! the only decent thing about the hotel is its location. Stay elsewhere!

A class hotel with excellent staff who are efficient and courteous. Spacious well appointed lobby, delightful gardens, very good value food and well maintained hotel.
I'd certainly book there when traveling to Rotorua but my only criticism is that for such a quality hotel there should be free wifi available in the rooms. In this day and age that should almost go without saying. The only free wifi meant sitting in the lobby and then it was only available free for 20 minutes.
Otherwise, a great place to stay.

We have just stayed here for two nights as part of a month in Australasia and as in the review title it was pretty good but not perfect. It is an extremely busy hotel with both tourists and business people on the move at most times. What is really good is the public rooms; the helpfulness of the staff; the location and the availability of car parking. Our room overlooking the lake was great in all respects with the one criticism being the leatherette armchair was very worn with bits coming off it. The bathroom was really perfect as was the shower.
After four weeks on the road, we had built up quite a lot of laundry but had been put off doing it as in many hotels, the costs of the service are disproportionately expensive. However, the Millennium has a laundrette which was very reasonable indeed. All you need is a supply of two dollar coins and hey presto, with the iron and a board in the room, my wife was able to bring us completely up to date with laundry before we returned home three days later. Much easier to pack clean clothes so it was brilliant!
Breakfast is absolutely fine - our only criticism being that as it is a conference hotel, both the mornings we were there, we found ourselves next to high powered business discussions at nearby tables which were very intrusive. I suspect these delegates may possibly have been supposed to sit on separate tables outside by the pool but at 0830 in the morning it is really heavy going! Relative peace and quiet is impossible.
My only other criticism concerns the charging for wifi. You are allowed twenty minutes free every 24 hours or pay for two hours or sign up to a daily plan. When you logon for either of the first two options, you have to use the time up immediately or it is gone. The ubiquitous nature of modern communications means the majority of people are used to being able to logon multiple devices whenever they want from the comfort of their rooms for however long they want, but this is unachievable here without significant payment.

Room Tip: The upgrade to a room overlooking the lake is worthwhile, not so much for the view, but for peace an...

Thank you for your comments on Trip Advisor about the helpful staff, the location and car parking during your recent Australasian travels. November is one of the peak months in Rotorua so everywhere can get a little busy at times, but I hope this did not detract too much from an otherwise enjoyable stay. Best Wishes for the Xmas season.

Just stayed here one night but found it really lovely although some areas could do with a bit of a "spruce up". It is really conveniently located and only a short walk to a number of attractions. Check in was easy and the beds lovely. The only really bad thing were the showers - the worst shower I have very had - the spray noozles were so far apart it was just about impossible to actually get wet!! Apart from that we were really happy with our short stay and would stay there again.

Thank you for your feedback on your recent stay and I am pleased you were happy with your short stay and that you will return again, we look forward to welcoming you back. I have noted the comment regarding the shower and we are currently in the process of replacing the heads in some of the rooms that appear to be not spraying efficiently. Best Wishes for a safe Xmas.
