when you are looking for a great place to hold a conference in NZ, then this hotel ticks all of the boxes. Clean, great conference sized rooms and the staff service is great as well. The breakfast buffet is a great choice especially for a mix of tastes.

Second night of our drive from Auckland to Wellington. Larger than average Novotel in the best location in town. Close to the lake and many restaurants and bars. Service is indifferent, pretty typical for a Novotel I think, not much more to say, OK if you like this style of hotel. A note on Rotorua, pretty town and clearly popular with tourists but I was certainly not prepared for the strength of the ubiquitous sulphur smell. Not a problem for all but worth considering - we felt unable to eat outside as a consequence.

We stayed at the Novotel Lakeside in Rotorua for a night. The hotel has an amazing view from the rooms at higher floors. The rotorua lake is right infront. Green lush parks, ample parking space (if you rent a car), plenty of restaurant and food options. The service was great, the receptionist went out of the way to recommend and book tour packages for us. They even upgraded us to a better room with a good view. Great service and decent room with all facilities.

Room Tip: Opt for a room at a higher floor with lake view!

We stayed just for one night - the room was comfortable and spacious. Its very central in Roturua, near to restaurants, the lake etc. Parking is free. There is a lovely spa / gym, with heated geothermal pools, and swimming pool, As we went over Christmas, there were toys for the children as well.

Would recommend.
