Really enjoyed this tour and was amazed how they used the thermal springs for cooking and bathing and the traditions off the Maori people. You also get to see the Prince of Wales Feathers Geyser which is on a more expensive tour

This was our second visit and I highly recommend experiencing the entire package. The cultural performance was quite excellent and never felt less than authentic. Order the meat pie meal -- cooked the same way as the Hangi meal but less food. I still could barely finish it all. Simply cooked and simply delicious! For those of you who like geysers, this is the place. They have two and I have never visited when they did not erupt almost constantly. The guided tour is an excellent history lesson in the Maori culture.

This was a great experience to witness the Maori people and their village. The smell is something that you will have to get used to, as it is an active geothermal location. The guide was very informative and knowledgeable about the history and you were able to experience their traditional performances (unfortunately it was raining, so the performance I witnessed was indoors). If you are lucky you will get to witness someone sanding the carvings that later get sold in gift shops. It was great to see where the indigenous/native New Zealand culture comes from.

We arrived just in time for the tour. I was just so good, learned about the indigenous culture, very informative and was shown a cultural show. It was fun and we had a chance to taste corn cooked in the geothermal pools. Highly recommended visit.
