We really enjoyed our stay at Cosy Cottage Holiday Park. Great location, easy to find and to get around Rotorua. Lovely green sites which were ample for our large motorhome.
Not much luck at the Hot Water Beach, the weather was very windy and there wasnt enough sand left to dig in. But this was more than made up for with the Thermal pools inside the park. They were wonderful!!! We spent the majority of our evenings in them after dinner. Warm, sheltered and soooo relaxing. A real highlight.
Helpful staff at reception and a great BBQ/camp kitchen area all made for a lovely stay. Highly recommended.

Our room had a double bed plus a bunk, a small table/chairs, a wee kitchenette and a toilet/sink. It met our needs well, but I would recommend making easier walkways from the car to the door, and perhaps adding some shrubbery to break up the view between unit picnic tables.

Sometimes you just find an absolute Gem. Initial impressions were enhanced by the desk staff: courteous, welcoming and extremely helpful with not only the site but with the best things to do during our short one night stay. We took the key to a lovely little self-contained chalet, I say little, but it had a double bed, separate room with 3 single beds and a bathroom with shower. The kitchen had all one needed. As for the site itself, neatly tucked in, it excudes charm and character. Geothermal cooking, hottubs, bubbling mud, swimming pool and a section of beach where you can dig your own spa! I shall certainly recommend this place to all I know and will be coming back at the first opportunity - just loved it.

Room Tip: chalet was just perfect

Bit of a quirky site, but good facilities, well equiped kitchen, boiling mud, good showers, pool, hot tubs (groundwater heated) hangi facilities, steam coming out of the ground, nearly tame pukekos. Seriously though, a good site, quite roomy, clean kitchens, access to beach and hot-water pools (just like Hot Water Beach, without the crowds and no tides!). It's Rotorua, so everywhere is expensive.

Room Tip: There are some areas of the site that have boiling mud and spitting steam.

We had a kitchen cabin for two nights.
The room is so large, with 4 beds, very clean and nice.
The kitchen was well equipped and the shared toilet and showrs were clean.
I really appreciate the pool ( not very hot water) and the hot pools open till 10 pm.
A place not very expensive …where I’d like to come back.

We had a tent site for two or three days over New Year's. Some of the tent sites have thermal heating, which would be a definite bonus in winter. The tent sites are close together and not very private or scenic, but there is bubbling mud on site, and a complimentary BBQ. There is also a hangi steam oven (regret we didn't have a chance to use it--they will let you borrow pan if you need it), and three mineral hot pools that were acceptably clean. Shared hot showers and toilets also acceptably clean, Kitchen with sinks, elements, and a zip (which I appreciated very much). Coin op washing machines and even washing line. Also a small swimming pool (which we didn't use). There is private access to the lake, and you can borrow shovels to make your own mud baths. You are not that close to the supermarkets (maybe about 2km), although there are some nearby shops (butcher, veggie shop). The location is good for a holiday park in town, I guess. You are very close to Ohinemutu and St. Faith's Anglican church. There is a nice vibe at this popular holiday park. Recommended if you want to be close to town and don't want to splash out for a motel.

I stayed here for two nights and really enjoyed my stay. I was in a flatlet which could, at a pinch, have slept 5 but it would have been very crowded. The kitchen was well equipped and it had a toilet and sink, but I had to use the shared showers. This was not a problem as they were very close and there were lots of them so I never had to wait. The room was very dated and would have benefitted from refurbishment - the TV is the oldest one I've seen in a long time. There was a lot to do on the site - swimming pool, which was quite small, two hot tubs and a nice walk, past a bubbling mud pool, to their private bit of the lake which was very pleasant. No supermarket close by but there's a garage shop which had basic requirements a few minutes walk away. A few minutes drive or a 15-20 minute walk into town. The staff were extremely helpful and had lots of useful suggestions for what to do. Excellent value for money.
