This is an oasis in a town where things "sophisticated" and "glamorous" are pretty thin on the ground. The decor and ambience is elegant and sumptuous with real attention to detail. My expectations of the food were pretty low because I find places frequently fail to nail both atmosphere and cuisine - but I was pleasantly surprised - the food was excellent too. My companion is a pork pie connoiseur and she raved about the one we got on our pie platter. The other pies were delicious too. I found the waitress too young and lacking in the discretion and refinement which I would expect of this sort of establishment - but that was the only fault I could find.
