Good chalet with good shower and quite a lot of room, with a balcony. The thermal pool was great too.

Some staff were friendly and some were not, many had a bit of an attitude, like they were the ones meant to be having a holiday! When one of our party (15 years) entered the bar area to play Pool the staff member immediately barked at him to get outside. He had been eating his breakfast in the same room that morning and had no idea of any rules, so a bit heavy handed there.

Beer and food pricey, but cannot moan about the actual accommodation. It is a bit out of town tho so be prepared to walk through a not very pretty part of town.

It is cheap (NZ$30/night/person) and parking is available. Facility like cooking, laudary, cafe and bar are in good quality (Youth Hostel standard). The location is a bit far away from the city center and need to drive 5 minutes to get to nearest restaurant.

I stay in a Double room but the room is too small. It just has a double bed, a small table and a heater. The space left will not enough for more than 2 luggages. Ventilation may be a problem if stay in summer time.

It is impossible to sleep late as most of the people will check out on 8:00a.m. The noise they make will definitly wake you up.

Couldnt of asked for better. The staff were freindly, helpful and VERY paitent as we travelled in a large group and it took awhile to sort out who goes where. My first impression when we entered our chellet was WOW how nice. Very clean and tidy place and well looked after. Great atmospher even with my children. They loved the pool and we definitly will be back.

Friendly staff, good food, bar and cafe, small thermal pool, good kitchen facilities. We had a room on the second floor, right next door to the bathroom, it was incredibly hot, due to the hot water pipes for the bathroom running through the walls, so we managed to change to a room a bit further down. That was fine, until 2 coach loads of teenagers from the rowing team checked in, they had to be up at 5am, which meant everyone else was awake due to them running up and down the corridor, screaming and shouting. Not much fun.

Not a bad hostel. We stayed in a chalet flat which had ensuite. Very clean. Has bar and cafe and is about a 15 minute walk to bars in rotorua. A thermal park behind with bubbling mud and sizzling champagne pools - can be a bit whiffy but you've got to put up with that if you're going to Rotorua!
