Spent 2 nights there. Hotel in in a quiet, safe location. Lots of free parking. Rooms are comfy and efficient. There was an electric water pot and some tea/coffee - very common in NZ households too. Buffet breakfast was reasonably good, though the bacon wasn't crispy and the sausage wasn't good. There was espresso coffee, though, with some fresh fruit and some Oriental dishes like fried rice, noodles and congee. The ladies at the front desk were pleasant. We used the clothes washer and dryer in the basement; cost $2. per load. Hotel is walking distance to parks and shopping.

As with many Accor hotels, this hotel is located adjacent the Novotel only a couple of minutes walk in one direction from the waterfront and in the other direction to one of the main cafe and restaurant areas. Add a couple of more minutes walk and you'll find plenty of local and tourist related shopping opportunities.

There was plenty of local activities information available in the reception area, but as we did our booking at the local iSite Information centre, we didn't need to ask the staff about what activities were available.

Parking was available for free in the basement of the hotel, and there was also plenty of street parking if the hotel park filled up.

Wifi was free for a half hours use in the foyer and restaurant area.

The room was a fairly standard slightly on the smaller side of things Ibis room, with twin double beds, which were comfortable, and we had a good nights sleep.
The bathroom was starting to show signs of ware and tear, and was probably due for a refit in the next year or so. There is no mini bar, but there is tea and coffee making facilities.

We had a problem with the fridge freezing our food and drinks (to the point of the glass carbonated drinks exploding and the fruit being frozen solid). After complaining, we had little sympathy, with an of the cuff apology. My wife later complained again, as the mess in the fridge hadn't been cleaned up, at which point the staff member finally did something to rectify the problem. As a piece offering, the staff member offered to replace our fruit and drinks, and also offered us breakfast the next morning. It was good to get a resolution, it was just a shame we had to complaint twice before it came.

The breakfast was reasonable, and included a hot and cold buffet selection, with some limited international offerings. I believe the cost was $20 for the full hot selection, which was reasonable value for money. It's not what I would call an amazing breakfast, but it defiantly set us up for a day exploring all that Rotorua has to offer.

We booked early, and got a great room rate, so overall this hotel was good value for money, and coupled with it's convenient location. I would rebook this Ibis hotel again in the future.

Good standard of Ibis hotel in a good location.

Hotel was well appointed and clean and staff were friendly and helpful.

The hotel and dining facilities were somewhat soulless but as with all Ibis hotels, it's standard accommodation which is well priced.

No free wifi available here.

The Hotel is in a great location and is modern, clean and tidy. Beds are on the harder side but still comfortable enough. Value for money is excellent in my opinion. We stayed on 1 & 2 January and the level of service in general was reasonable. However at breakfast on 2 January the service was exceptionally poor, The staff appeared to be manning the restaurant as well as reception and there weren't enough. Additionally the cooked buffet was only just above cold in temperature making some of it inedible. We went to the Novotel a short walk away for breakfast the next day. I would recommend this hotel except for the breakfast.

This hotel is very nice style IBIS and it's in the city and convenient when you go anywhere. And there is Novotel hotel next to IBIS. You can see the lake view from your room. And you can work a little bit to visit the food street.
