“Great Value!”
Reviewed 23 July 2014

My family were accomodated well at Ibis Rotorua. The rooms were great, and we were upgraded so that our family could be side by side with an interconnecting room. Thoughtful gesture and excellent time.

Ibis Rotorua is a no-frills hotel located close to the Rotorua Lake.
There are no porters to help with the luggage, but they do have trolleys one can use, and that isn't such a bad thing.
The breakfast is pretty good. The best part though is that you get a view of the lake from the room, which is definitely a plus.
All in all, its a nice hotel without the fancy, but definitely worth staying.

Everything excellent except evening dining. Waited over an hour for our dinners & only just acceptable. 2 out of the 5 meals were cold.
Continental breakfast fine but had to ask for refills in several containers.

Room came with double beds and very spacious. Front desk staff were really helpful in providing information on tours and sightseeing around Rotorua. Check in was fast within 5 mins. You can park your car at the back, if not available there are plenty of free parking at the road in front of the hotel. Breakfast is recommended as they have quite a number of choices like bacon, scramble eggs, sausages, bread, cereals and fruits.

Overall is good. Staff are very friendly and the room is big and new in IBIS's term. The bed is really comfy! It is just a 5 min walk to the restaurants so you could just park your car and walk. The carpark at the basement is rather tiny although there are ample street parking lots in front of the hotel. There is also a laundry on site. Only cost 2 dollars for washing/drying. The hot breakfast is pretty standard and the internet speed is relatively fast. I am a accor silver member so I get free internet.

Room Tip: It doesn't matter which direction your room faces. There isn't much to see. I chose a room f...
