The highlight of our visit to Rotorua was staying in Robertson House and enjoying the company of our charming host, John, and Loki, his very special dog. The house has been lovingly restored to provide beautiful period rooms with great bathrooms. It was a wonderful contrast to the very modern centre of Rotorua, but close enough to walk to restaurants and the geo-thermal park there. Admittedly there was no cooked breakfast, but this was more than made up for by the helpfulness of the host and his enthusiasm showing us around this remarkable property. His last piece of advice was to visit the Redwoods on the outskirts of the town, which we did and loved, and also to make sure that we went to La Bonne Bakery (almost opposite the turnoff for the forest) to get some of their fantastic sandwiches for our journey. So glad we took his advice. Thanks, John, for your wonderful hospitality; you made our visit to Rotorua very special.

We stayed in this beautiful B & B .Robertson House was built in 1880 and had many original features really lovely. Our room was large with its own veranda , table & chairs. The B. & B was in an excellent location. John the host was a charming man , very helpful and informative about the area. Wi fi internet was the fastest I had experienced fibre optic and free. We really enjoyed our stay in this special B&B . Thank you John.

Room Tip: The Green room was large with its own veranda.

We stayed here during our honeymoon in New Zealand and we do not regret it. The rooms are large, the beds are extremely comfortable and the shower is great. The B & B is ideally located near to Rotorua and its outside tourist attractions. John is an extremely welcoming host who is happy to give you tips about what to do and where to eat in Rotorua. The only minor detail that would further improve the b & b would be for there to be a cooked breakfast, but all in all, you will not find a better place in Rotorua to stay that is not a motel.

This is a lovely house and a great host. The room is in a beautifully restored older house. Nice and warm and comfortable. John greeted us as soon as we arrived. After we settled in, he gave us a map and tips for things to see and do. He also likes a chat. Walking distance to the town centre and thermal park. Highly recommended. We will certainly stay there again.

Room Tip: All rooms would be great.

From the moment we arrived and were greeted by our host John we liked this place. John is simply the best host we encountered on a 4-week trip through NZ. Entertaining, informing and always ready for a nice talk. The house is gordious. We stayed in the big room in front of the house. He originally put us there, but we were free to choose any other room since it was just us and our family. Breakfast was great although no cooked stuff was offered. We didn't miss this at all. If we ever go back to NZ this is the first place we book. THANKS JOHN!!!

Room Tip: We loved our room in the front of the house.
