My husband and I and our two sons, 20 and 22, spent two nights at this lovely hotel. We enjoyed every minute. It is conveniently located and the rooms are spacious with beautiful furnishings. We stayed in the new section in adjoining rooms. Every staff member was friendly and professional, but Darryn was exceptional. He gave us tips on many activities and made us feel like honored and welcome guests in his home.

Darryn and his staff were absolutely amazing. They were all friendly and Darryn could not have been more helpful. He helped us plan a truly memorable trip and when one tour provider said no, it only made him more determined to make sure that we had the experiences we wanted. He organised everything for us and made it so easy. Beautiful clean suite, everything we needed and smiles and greetings every time we passed reception. The restaurant has beautiful food - and you can have it in room if like us you are too dishevelled and lazy to go down for dinner. Would definitely recommend and will stay again next time we're in Rotorua.

Room Tip: We had the executive 2 bedroom 2 bathroom suite which was great for parents and kids with plenty of...

This hotel was a bit of a pleasant surprise, due to its older 'motel' style exterior, but internally the rooms and public areas were excellent and very clean. The decoration style of the public rooms was a little 'over-the-top' for our tastes but we enjoyed our short stay, especially the bedroom which was very well appointed and very comfortable. The price we paid via Trailfinders was good value considering the centre of town location and quality of the room.
We didnt eat at the Hotel as we wanted to walk around the local restaurants. We saw only one other couple eating in the hotel restaurant, whilst many of the local eateries were jammed full. Breakfast wasn't included in our pre-paid voucher for the hotel, so we also eat breakfast in town. Typically of many hotels in NZ breakfast isn't included in the room price and seemed rather expensive by UK standards.
We only stayed at this hotel for one night, but overall we would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to tour the town and vist the local museum plus volcanic tourist spots. The lake is also a short walk from the hotel.

Room Tip: If you have any difficulty climbing stairs or need help with baggage, I would suggest you ask for a...

When we pulled up to the hotel, I couldn't believe it was rated 4-5 stars. It looked like an old motel! Once inside, I was pleasanly surprised Everythig was first class. Although the room wasn't very large, it was very nice and clean. Everything was very modern. The staff was fantastic, the location was great. The breakfast was fantasic. Since it was booked by a travel agent as part of a "package", they wouldn't tell me how much I paid, but I am sure it was worth the price. None of the hotels would tell me how much I paid, which I found annoying. but what could I do?

Very modern hotel with lovely beautifully decorated rooms. Very individually done - the bar and restaurant area is very modern and funky too. We decided to take breakfast there and the choice was very good - good value and very fresh. There is a small pool with loungers and a little jacuzzi pool. Staff were very friendly and helpful
Bars and restaurants within walking distance but unfortunately we were only here for one night and had booked a Maori evening so didn't get to try any in the evening!!
If you are coming to Rotorua you must do a Maori experience and go to a thermal village - both excellent and in keeping with the traditions and culture of the area. The hotel were very helpful in recommending the various thermal areas - there are a few so if you only have time for one you need to pick the right one! They also gave us a discount coupon which was great!
An ideal choice for a stay here amongst all the bland motels in the area!

Stayed here for two nights in their 2 bedroom executive suite.
Room was lovely, very nice colour scheme & style - everything was black and white.

British lady at reception was super friendly and very helpful in booking Mitai Maori village and Hungi dinner for us (yum by the way!).

The only point that I felt let this hotel down was the housekeeping. Upon arrival we discovered that our main bins in the lounge hadn't been emptied. 2nd day a dirty towel and dirty face cloth that had been left on the floor for replacement had been replaced, but the dirty ones left (I assume by accident) sitting in the sink.

There was also an item left in a plastic bag in the bathroom that was thrown away by the housekeeping that was not to be thrown away.

These mistakes have me thinking their housekeepers are under some severe time constraints.

Would definitely stay here again!

When selecting holiday accommodation from as far away as the UK is something of a lottery, but we definitely hit the jackpot with the Regent. Central location, but on a quiet street. The traditional horse shoe motel layout has been stylishly madeover to create an intimate feel. Rooms were beautifully decorated with much attention to detail. The same applied to the service which was outstanding, attentive and helpful without being in any way pushy. Darren in particular went the extra mile for us while we were trying to deal with protracted fax communications back & fro to Europe.
