“Amazeballs”
Reviewed 23 June 2014

After spending the day at the Polynesian spa we were quite hungry and stumbled across the Pig and whistle pub. The service at this place was quick and friendly. Food was amazing and excellent value where my Thai prawn + calamari salad was delicious (on the menu this is classed as a "light meal" BUT it is a HUGE serving and will definatley stop any hunger pains you have!!!) and i added on the famous pigtail fries which were yummy ( like curly fries from dennys) . Prices are good, similar to any auckland pub yet better value. Would recommend this place to all :)

“Unsatisfied Customer”
Reviewed 23 June 2014

Did not enjoy my visit here at all. Food was not up to standard. You expect to get quality food for the price we paid for. Disappointed with the garlic pizza as it contained a whole lot of cheese and no garlic whatsoever. As for the beef nachos, they were flavourless and definitely not good at all. Sad to be writing a review like this as I had heard great comments about this place. Service was not the greatest either.

“Good Pub Food”
Reviewed 16 June 2014

After being traveling for a week we just wanted a good Pub meal.
Staff were very friendly.
I had Fish & Chips which was very nice. My wife had a Steak with pepper sauce that was cooked to perfection.
A beer & glass of wine topped it off.

“You'd think you were in London”
Reviewed 9 June 2014

After being turned away with the crowds and long wait the evening of the Rotorua Marathon, we went back the following night. This old building has so much character inside and out. We sat in the outdoor patio and had good wine and beers. I had the Harissa Spiced Chicken salad. The chicken was tender and African flavors were excellent. Friend had the salmon and her eyes were rolling back. The guys had the Fish and Chips. Huge portions! they ate it all and were transported back to Merry Ole England.
