The lounge bar service was excellent for pre dinner drink.
We were placed promptly at our table.
The plaster on the wall beside the table was chipped in several places - looks shabby.
The menu made no statement about mains being supplied with veges or potato stack.
The list of side orders included seasonal vegetables fries garlic potatoes
The vegetables of the day were stir fried regardless of mains - unusual combination but cooked to perfection
Side order of fries did not appear - but snapper came on stack of unannounced mashed potato. Also delicious.
The Bombe Alaska - core was still frozen as meringue was blowtorched not baked.
The Pavlova was superbe. Fillet steak fantastic.
Wine menu : only one Sauvingnon and one Chardonnay were available by the glass Both same winery.
In short The Orangery needs to regain its former glory - the walls, the menu should communicate, the sides should compliment the main, the dessert should taste as good as it looks.
