Great place to stay in the country on the edge of Taupo. Quiet idyllic location. Wonderful well appointed accommodation. Friendly caring hosts. Particularly good breakfasts. Would definitely stay again if back in this part of the world.

Such a welcoming environment. Gail and Robert would do anything to make our stay as pleasant and relaxing as possible taking great interest in our daily plans. Great rooms, well appointed, friendly atmosphere, wonderful breakfast, awesome outlook onto the mountain which we climbed, welcoming beer and would definitely stay again.

Thank you for writing your review, we really do appreciate every one of them.

Recently accommodation providers listed on TripAdvisor have been targeted by emails offering to write excellent FAKE reviews for their property, for a fee, in order to get them higher up the rankings and attract future guests. It is vital that users are able to trust the review written.

At Kauri Point we aim to provide excellent service and experiences that our guests want to write about them and tell others. We are proud that we can say we have been listed Number 1 for the last 4 years and have received a"Certificate of Excellence Winner "award for the last 2 years ranking us within the top 10% of all listed businesses on TripAdvisor. This is a reputation we are very proud of and it is thanks to our guests written reviews. We are saddened that this has occurred and hope that they will not be taken up on their offer of fake reviews.

We urge future guests and TripAdvisor users to read reviews about a particular property on more than one review site, using a range of sites and web sites. By doing this you will bet a better impression of the service being offered.

Thank you Judy for your review. We hope you went on to enjoy your last 2 days in Auckland and have had a safe journey home, and back to work!!!! We enjoyed your company and are thrilled that Janet did so well in the Taupo Iron man last weekend. Well done to the support crew too!

We look forward to seeing you all again next year, and maybe also for the lake Taupo Cycle Challenge in November.

A very sociable B&B where Gail and Robert encourage the guests to gather each evening for drinks and nibbles on the beautiful terrace.
A very modern and comfortable house where all the bedrooms have an external seating area.
Very relaxed and their two dogs are definitely part of the family.
TV and free WiFi.
Good cooked breakfast available and sometimes a cooked dinner can be arranged if you don't want to go into town for dinner.

Thank you Ian for you positive review of Kauri Point. We appreciate your feedback and thank you for your kind words.

Evening drinks and nibbles are an important aspect of our service. We thoroughly enjoy getting together with our guests in the early evening before heading off for dinner. Getting to know you all is a huge part of the reason we do this. We love meeting guests from all around the world, getting everyone together is always interesting and enjoyable - we have learned so much from all of you.

Just remember to ask us ,before we have a glass of wine, if you would like us to drop you into town!!!

The property is beautiful, the rooms are spacious well appointed and meticulously clean, as are all the common areas. This couple really knows how to make their guests feel like family. A great value. I recommend it highly!

Gail & Robert have created something very special at KP that's likely to be way above your expectations. NZ has some really good private accommodation and I think it would wrong to call KP a B & B. It's more like a private lodge, surrounded by 6 acres of very private landscape gardens with panoramic views of the countryside. It's a lovely peaceful spot where you can lounge around on the extensive deck where the ever sociable and accommodating Gail will share a pre dinner glass of wine with you and the other guests. Our very large room was individually and beautifully furnished to a very high standard with a very comfortable king size bed and its own sofa. The bathroom is also spacious, modern and to a very high standard. There are lots of nice little touches everywhere you look and too numerous to mention. Quite simply Gail seems to have thought of everything you might ever need or want. Breakfast is cooked to order - don't miss it! Like everything else here it's very good! On our last night we took advantage of Gail's splendid cooking and had dinner with her and Robert and our fellow travellers. The venison pie in ale and the evening we spent around their fabulous oak dining table was memorable for all the right reasons.

This is quite simply the best private accommodation we've ever stayed at and by a considerable margin. It's the benchmark by which all other accommodation will now be judged by us. You will not be disappointed.

Thank you Colin330 for your review of your stay with us. We are delighted that you obviously enjoyed your stay and absolutely thrilled that you consider us the best private accommodation you have ever stay - that is certainly a great accolade, our thanks once again.

Evenings around the dinner table have proved to be a big success this year. We have a selection of meals to offer our guests, available with little notice, and with something to suit most dietary requirements. At the end of the day when you do not feel like going back into town for dinner it's the perfect excuse to sit and get to know ourselves and our other guests.

We hope to see you both again one day.

We stayed in several B and B's and hotels with prices ranging from $ 150 to 250 , and would have to say that Kauri Point was easily the best in all aspects during our experience in NZ.
Have to rate as close to the best B &B experience in all our travels worldwide.
Thanks Gail and Robert

Robert and I always appreciate the reviews our guests leave for us on this site. It makes all the time and effort we put in so worth it when we see or hear that our guests are having the great experience they deserve.
We hope that the four of you continued to enjoy your time in new Zealand and that maybe someday you will return and visit us again someday.
Thank you so much Gail
