My wife & I stayed at Riverview for two nights in January and could not fault it. The view over the Waikato river is stunning, and all the attractions are within easy reach, -if you want bungy jumping, it's a five minute walk away!
Bonnie is a wonderful hostess and nothing is too much trouble for her, (you don't get many b&b's with a bed turn down service). She lets you know that her home is yours during your stay, and makes you feel totally at ease. The thought of her wonderful breakfast taken overlooking the river on a sunny morning will be a lasting memory of Taupo.

We had 2 nights b and b and what a little gem!! Perfect bedroom, with chocolates being put on our pillows, beautifull views of the river from the concervatory for breakfast, a very large bathroom with shower and jacuzzi. The host Bonnie is the perfect host greeting us on arrival with tea, coffee and cake. As we were bed and breakfast we ate out the first night but Bonnie told us we could use her kitchen if we wanted to make our own evening meal the day after for which she then offered us a glass of wine on both nights. It is apparent that Bonnie loves being the host and it showed in her wonderfull hospitality to her guests. Would definately stay there again for longer. She also gave us some very good trip ideas for the 2 days we had in Taupo. We do not normally recommend places but this is the exception. We totally agree with the previous reviews.

Had the great pleasure of staying with Bonnie at the Riverview in November 2013. Booked through Trip Advisor. Communication was simple at all times.
Arrived late afternoon and received a lovely welcome. Enjoyed a nice glass of wine with Bonnie in her conservatory overlooking the Waikato River. She is so easy to get on with and so engaging. What a spirit she has. So enthusiastic about what she does. Her home is immaculate. Fabulously decorated and furnished.
Our room was spacious throughout with tv. You were invited to use the facilities of Bonnies home as if it was your own so you felt relaxed at all times. Private bath/shower next door to your room, again furnished and decorated to the highest standard with all complimentary toiletries.
Lovely big lounge with tv, hi-fi etc all at your disposal.
Breakfast was lovely and HUGE!. Tea/coffee. cereal, toast etc all followed by an amazing Full English. All prepared and served with a smile and laugh. Taken either in the conservatory or deck overlooking the river. Bliss!
Bonnie is the perfect hostess, really taking the B&B concept to great heights. She loves your company, is so engaging and very knowledgeable about local attractions etc. She can tell you whats worth visiting and even books up for you too. Close by all the local attractions and town this is the perfect place to stay in Taupo.
Should we be fortunate to visit New Zealand again we would not hesitate to stay with Bonnie again and highly recommend anyone to stay here. You will not be disappointed.

Bonnie, our host, is awesome, amazing, lovely and full of energy!!! Bonnie's attention to detail made the stay in this superb B&B fantastic! No issues with any part of the home. Views are to die for and food is quality. To say "make yourself at home" is easy but Bonnie pulls it off so well, one can not help but actually feel at home. Location for where we wanted to visit was spot on. Bonnie knows how a B&B ought to be run and makes her guests leave with the full intention of returning. Thank you, Bonnie, one more time, awesome!!!

Location - less than 5 mins to city centre, lake and harbour. Views overlooking Waikato river were stunning. AMAZING natural hot water pools very nearby. Free and completely natural! A must (even in winter).
B&B - comfy super king bed with a large private bathroom. Very clean and well presented.
Bonnie was lovely and gave us plenty of tips for what to do in taupo. She called and booked a few excursions and meals for us too. She also leant us towels to go down to the hot spa and offered to do our clothes washing for us!
Our only negative was the slight smell of smoke in the house. Being non-smokers this did bother us, but perhaps for other people it wouldn't be an issue. We feel bad saying this, but as we hadn't read it in any of the reviews we thought we should say as it might have affected our decision to stay had we known beforehand.

Hi there. So sorry about that, had a meeting 2 days before your arrival, 16 in all, and a few of them smoked. All cleaned out, and back to normal. Thank you for your review. Bonnie

Re eating out in the evenings. We tried Portifino's (Italian+ BYO ) Crooked Door and Mole and Chicken.
PS great bakery across the road especially the mince pies.
PPS many good walks and things to see from Taupo, We even went to see ''The Spiral'' ( a feat of engineering for a rail track to climb to a higher level ) but that's approx 2 hrs drive. ( Sorry not much to see )
Thank you again Bonnie,
