Incredible location, incredible service. The property; right on a gorgeous river, manicured lawns, private nooks for dining, tennis court to die for, heated pool, shady tropical walks, cozy yet elegant lodge with many private places to relax, and all VERY private. Could NOT be better. The service, from the warm welcome, to planning any kind of excursion, suggestions, always available always cheerful. Very attentive and very discrete staff. This is a very expensive resort, and if there is something to be learned here, it is that while money may not buy happiness, it can buy beauty and service. While staying there we felt like we were under a golden umbrella. My husband helicoptered in for fishing, and caught a 5 lb rainbow, among other smaller fish and got a great picture of it. Golf was near and a gorgeous course. All in all - perfect, and we will be back.

Room Tip: There is not a bad room, but some are a pretty good walk from the lodge. Perhaps closer would be bet...

Our visit to Huka Lodge was all that it promised and more. The welcome was warm and genuine. We were thoroughly spoilt for choice during our stay and the attention to detail was obvious. this is truly a place for the discerning traveller. All the meals were off a high standard and hearty. The views and ambience were amazing thanks to the excellent location and weather. we were spoilt for choice when it came to the several well appointed dining locations and i must say the privacy and service were of a high standard. The junior suites were luxurious and very private.
I had a fly fishing lesson on the lawn which resulted in me landing two brown trout on the river. This needless to say made my holiday and i was hooked.
Our stay was truly an experience and worth the price.

From our initial greeting until our final goodbys, we felt catered to in a genuine yet unpretentious way. The setting of the lodge is exquisite. It sits perched on a green slope overlooking the Huka River. One can see trout swimming and jumping out of the river! The accommodations are sumptuous and private. The food is as good as any 5 star restaurant. Louie, the manager of the Huka Lodge, could not be nicer or more helpful. He runs a 7 star lodge! One thing we had never experienced was choosing where you wanted to dine on the property. One night we ate down by the river seated in a small pavilion with candlelit chandeliers! Another night we sat outside with two other couples in the garden with an outside fireplace keeping us warm. I could go on and on. Just take my word and experience the Huka Lodge!

This place is not to be believed. The exceptional service that begins the moment you arrive continues until the (very sad) moment you depart. Each and every staff member endeavors to make your stay as beautiful and memorable as possible. There are endless choices for private dining areas, and we took advantage of several. The food is five star plus. We celebrated our daughter's 18th birthday while there and the presentation and attention to her was overwhelming. The room are luxurious beyond belief. Really, if you cannot be happy here, it is simply not possible! It is a slice of heaven, and we greatly anticipate a return visit.

Room Tip: All rooms are phenomenal.

Many luxury hotels we have visited claim to be "one of the best in the world" and Huka Lodge certainly deserves to make this claim. It is a fantastic combination of understated luxury and a magical setting. The highest care is taken to make every detail of your stay just perfect from the moment you arrive, the setting next to the Huka river and rapids is stunning, the lodge and rooms just beautiful and the service and food fantastic.

You can choose from a number of locations around the lodge where you would like to eat breakfast, lunch or dinner so a stay of more than one night can still be varied.

Our regret was that we only stayed one night at this beautiful place, it is one of the best residences we have ever visited.

The quality of service at Huka Lodge defies belief. The property is stunning, with every detail perfect. Guests' wishes are executed effortlessly. While we wanted to explore the area, we were reluctant to leave the property because it was so wonderful.

Room Tip: You can't go wrong - ANY room is perfection with pastoral, idyllic views. It's an oasis.

Owners cottage is the best place at Huka lodge. We were group of 9 including children and had booked 4 bedrooms for one day. The view of Huka river which just runs in front of property is stunning. The multiple locations where food is served are awesome .The services of personal butler are excellent and you can get best blend of continental and local dishes.
