The hotel was very modern, and the room clean, comfortable and spacious. The staff were all friendly and helpful. We had a room overlooking the lake a little distance away and with a main road in between. You need to drive in to town if you don't want to eat in the hotel. The one down side was that the room overlooked a busy main road, and trucks would grind up the hill making it very noisy at times. Having said that, they are building a bypass which will solve the problem. Meanwhile, a room at the back overlooking the pool may be preferable.

We stayed here just one night and it blew us away. We regretted that it was such a short stay and will definitely return for a longer time next time. More than a room, it had a separate sleeping area from the lounge. While a little disappointed we did not get a lake-view we still had a nice view over the pool/jacuzzi area. Very friendly staff who came out to meet me when I first went to check-in, didn't just stay behind the reception desk.
My husband used the fitness centre and said it was top notch equipment. Not far from town (if you have a car), probably wouldn't recommend staying here without a car as too far from town to walk

Quiet too, no street noise or noise from other rooms.

Really an excellent placeto stay, OK everyone should know by now that the hotel isn't by the lake, so we shouldn't mark it down for that. It's in it's own grounds set up above the town with some great views accross the town and lake, particularly if you get a room on the higher floors, the view is great. Rooms are spot on, everything you need, spotlessly clean and new. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The restaurant is nothing short of superb, the quality and freshness of the food, whether for breakfast or dinner is stunning set in a lovely dining room. For such a small place to have this quality of accommodation is amazing. Keep up the good work Hilton.

We recently went on a work conference to the Hilton Taupo and I was amazed at the quality of the premises, food and service. Nothing was too much bother and the swimming pool was fantastic!. We also played Golf and visited the Prawn Park (wouldn't eat there again -expensive and horrible prawns). Went to a great Italian restaurant where the service and food was great though. I would go there again, looked fantastic day and night but especially liked the restaurant view at night and big open log fire.

This was the last night of our honeymoon out of 4 nights and it was by far the best night. I wish we had stayed there every night. Great rooms and service. The breakfast had the best food and largest variety of any hotel that I have previously stayed at. The service was great. Secure parking that was easily accessable. Loved the pool and spa...very relaxing. Will def be returning in the near future and will only stay there when I go to Taupo. Very impressed overall with the Hilton. Was a very good price for the quality!!!
