“Comfortable stay”
Reviewed 8 March 2014

Spacious room, ideally located within walking distance of the lake. We stayed here to participate in the IRONMAN triathlon, and the hotel was very athlete-friendly allowing us to take our bicycles into our rooms. The beds were comfortable, and the hosts were super friendly. They arranged all our sightseeing tours, and even secured discounts for us!

Highly recommended, and we will definitely stay here when we are back in Taupo.

Had a very nice stay at this very good value motel while attend a concert in Taupo last weekend.
Our group had a total of 6 rooms and all of them were clean, tidy, well appointed, with some them having splendid lake views.
We had booked this motel on line and it well exceeded our expectations.
I have paid a lot more for a lot less with the rooms, large communal kitchen and games room all being of a much higher standard than the price would suggest.
Will happily use them again for next years concert and would recommended them to everybody.
The only let down was no sky in the rooms, but hay at price and for one night it did not matter.

Room Tip: As if can have a room facing the lake, very nice to watch the sun go down over the lake from there d...

Stayed here for one night. The motel was in a great location for us and the communal kitchen/dining area was perfect for our needs.
It was fully equipped and clean and tidy.
Our room 216 had a very noisy smoke alarm thing going on - couldnt find the source of the noise and totally forgot to mention it on check out.

The curtains could use a good clean too as there is mould on the backing.

We were a group and were treated very kindly.

Overall we were very happy and will be back!

We stopped over here for a night. The room was clean and decent, which provides the basic needs for the accommodation price. There was a common kitchen which we did not use. The location is reasonably near to the town. Parking is plenty and secure.
The only downside is that there is no lift and we had two big heavy luggage. We had difficulty carrying them up to the room by stairs and through a number of doors.

my husband and i stayed here one night on our way to stay in rotorua. we weren't expecting anything special, but it was very clean and comfortable. we had emailed the owner letting him know that we would be getting in late, and he kept the office open for us so that we could check in. overall, good experience.

Stumbled across this backpackers on wotif.com.
My boyfriend and I stayed here for one night. Super friendly and welcoming owners.
Room was a standard studio with ensuite. Comfy bed, spacious and super clean room. Felt more like a cheap hotel rather than a backpackers. We stayed at another hostel a few streets away previously and for $5 more here per night, so much more on offer.
Only criticism is walls were quite thin so heard people coming in all from town during night. However that is expected in a backpackers so ear plugs recommended.
Will definitely stay here again.

Stayed here for one night during or travels. The rooms were clean but very basic. Just a bed and some clothes hanging unit. For a simple stop over on a budget it is ideal. You can walk to the town centre/lake front within 10 minutes or so. Staff were friendly and there was lots of parking underneath the building.
