We stayed at Cascades early August and were very impressed by the hotel. Alsiter and Charlene were wonderful hosts and recommended activities both in Taupo and at our next destination. We were upgraded to a room on the second floor and really enjoyed the view. The room was big and cosy. It was also very clean. We had breakfast at the hotel which was kindly brought over by Charlene on both nights. We really had a great time and enjoyed meeting the very friendly hosts.

The deluxe suites have excellent facilities to a good standard. The owners are quite new and making upgrades and improvements all the time. The cooked breakfast is excellent.

We enjoyed our stay at the Cascades very much. Close to the lake, jacuzzi, swimming pool and lovely clean rooms with everything what you need. We staid on the 2nd floor, which had a nice view and a great balcony to sit outside and enjoy a cold drink in the evening. We will definitely stay there again when visiting Taupo.

“Cascades Motor Lodge was the perfect venue for our annual Family Holiday. Each year, all of our family get together some place in New Zealand for at least a few days and this year it was Taupo. Our family consists of 20 people ranging from five to 82 years. We found Cascades Motor Lodge a fantastic family venue as we were able to occupy units side by side and using Unit 1, the largest, as our gathering unit, we easily catered and socialised in a private garden with gorgeous lake views.
Our family have been doing these holidays for many years now and I know what is required for a venue to work well for us. Right from my first discussion with Charlene, I was impressed with her genuine willingness to be of assistance. Communication was easy and we felt very welcome.
Our rooms of course were all clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. Although we have plans already for the next year, there is a general consensus for us to return to Cascades Motor Lodge for another family holiday.
Thank you, to all at Cascades Motor Lodge.“

Some of the reviews for this motel on Trip Advisor meant that we weren’t quite sure what to expect when we booked to stay here for one night in January, but it was in our price range and on the main route through Taupo, so we thought we’d give it a try. Well, we needn’t have worried. The owners made us feel right at home and couldn’t do enough for us. The décor was nice and modern, so I think it must have had an update since some of the earlier reviews we had read. Our room was towards the road-end of the building but we didn’t find traffic noise a problem, and I consider myself a light sleeper. We didn’t use the pool, but we loved being able to just walk through and sit at the edge of the lake, where we had a picnic dinner. We will definitely stay here again when visiting Taupo.
