Our family of 4 adults and 2 children stayed at Unit 51, one of the separate cottages at Suncourt. Ample parking right outside the door. 3 bedrooms, (King, Queen, 2 x king singles). The kitchen/lounge area was a good size with family sized fridge too. Double doors off the lounge went to a covered verandah and private grassed area with wooden outdoor table. The cottage had been recently refurbished with new carpet, kitchen, furniture etc...all very fresh ! The pool was 40 metres away...close enough to access, far enough away that we didn't feel overwhelmed by the activity. With 6 people the charge mounts up but overall this is a great family unit.

Room Tip: Separate cottage family units good for 4-6. Units 51 and 52 are the most private.

So glad that your family enjoyed their stay at Suncourt.
The team put in a lot of hard work and effort converting these older style two bedroom units into more modern three bedroom apartments so it's gratifying to hear such positive feedback.

Booked Room 18 for the night, room was lovely and clean and had great views of the lake.
Only problem was the bed, it was very uncomfortable and you could feel the springs.

We stayed here the week before in the Nui A Tui Suite and it was perfect.

Room Tip: Upstairs with lake view, very quiet at night times, you dont even hear the traffic on the main road.

We love the view too !

Part of our 2014 upgrade program is the replacement of all beds within the complex.
So far we have updated 13 out of 52 rooms and thanks to your feedback we will ensure that Room 18 will go to the top of the list for our next allocation.

Location and closeness to shops & eating places gives the Suncourt one of the better accommodation sites in Taupo. Slightly elevated and set back from the lakesside road is a plus. Some units, especially those upstairs, have great views down the lake towards Mt.Ruapehu.
BUT after 5 weeks travelling NZ and experiencing a wide variation of accomodation and prices, we rated Suncourt poor value at $160 per night exclusive of breakfast for a "studio"unit.
Our studio unit (small) on the ground floor of the office block was very clean BUT the “kitchen facilities” were less than basic. Having to fill the electric jug with water from a tap in the bathroom was a first time experience for us, as was washing dishes in the bathroom handbasin! For tourists this is simply not a good look !
Our 2 night stay was with a large group using the Suncourt for a gathering. Many fully shared our view point but others, especially those staying in upstairs units of a separate building, seemed satisfied.
Our considered opinion is that if you are looking for a "studio" unit, much better value than Suncourt can be found elsewhere in Taupo.
We will not be staying there again.

Room Tip: Insist on an upstairs room if wanting lake views and sunshine.

Thank you for your comments. I do appreciate the way in which you commented on both the "positive" and "negative" aspects of your recent visit. Although it is not always possible to act or change elements of guests feedback it is an important opportunity to gather information to assist with future changes our facilities, and the way in which we package our product to ensure guests "value" expectations are met.

Stayed here on two separate occasions - title says it all!

The family rooms have a separate bedroom that, because of the size of the overall suite, helps give kids some space of their own.

We were told that Kiwi Experience spends their nights here but it was wonderfully quiet in the separate Lake View rooms.

Room Tip: Lake view rooms on the first floor have great views

It's wonderful that your family enjoyed both your stays at Suncourt.
The Kiwi Experience buses park on a street beside our complex however they do not stay at Suncourt, merely park here overnight as the drivers stay in a house close to town.

This hotel is our first choice of accommodation when visiting Taupo. It is handy to shops, cafes, has its own restaurant, close by is Mini putt and the hole in one golf.
Fantastic views from Lake View rooms, and off the main road is fantastic, with plenty of space for kids.

Room Tip: Lake view rooms are great if you like the stunning view offered from these rooms.

So glad to hear that we are your "first choice" of accommodation in Taupo.
We are very lucky to be in such a prime location to town and still have such amazing views.

Very straight-forward online booking experience. Pleasant staff at every interaction. Easy check in and check out. We'd chosen a room that suited our budget - it had everything we needed, albeit a little cramped.

There is a fanntastic view of the lake from the Lake View room we had. It was up stairs. There is a guest laundry upstairs as well.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Check in and out was simple and quick.
There is a resaurant here although we chose on this occasion to take a short walk to the many restaurants that are close by. Very nice and we would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Choose a Lake View upstairs.
