My partner and I decided to do something different with our evening and the idea of kayaking to see the glow worm was exciting. Our tour guide,Estelle was the ideal guide to keep us enthusiastic with her very cheerful personality. From meeting us, instructions, set up and the trip was excellent.I enjoyed the serenity of the lake and the fun we had with the group gazing at the stars and listening to the sound of the native owl,Ruru.

On our way to explore New Zealand we definitely wanted to see glowworms, and to go kayaking with them was the best we could do. It was a warm evening and after the safety instructions we went into the water. Kayaking itself was fun. And when we got to the glow worm canyon as it was dark - that is a view I won't forget. It was so beautiful. After the canyon we floated with the stream and watched the stars.
The hot chocolate afterwards and that the pictures were taken for us was a nice bonus and really nice.

I can only recommened to take this trip and see for yourself.

We were a small group of 6 and Estelle took us out on the lake when the sun was just setting. It was beautiful, and kayaking in the complete darkness was a unique experience and we felt very safe.
The glow worm canyon itself was a magical place and you have to experience it yourself!

I'm not a big fan of mass-touristy attractions so I am hesitating to go to Waitomo, but the Glow Worm Kayaking trip was just perfect, a small group, a lovely guide, beautiful nature and some hot chocolate to warm up afterwards :) And they take all the pictures for you which is also a nice bonus, you can just enjoy the experience and don't neet to worry about anything...

The staff made this trip memorable, patient, helpful and informative. 80 year old mother able to come even though it took some effort to help her into and out of kayak and she was unable to paddle, so guide looked after her. Guides extremely helpful, versatile and friendly. Fantastic experience overall and would recommend it to everyone. Better than EXCELLENT. Hot chocolate and chocolates afterwards was "just the ticket" to finish off a fantastic evening.
