We came across Duke Carvells whilst wandering around Wellington, spied it down a side street and took a chance - really glad we did. From the warm , enthusiastic greeting to the final delicious cocktail (Independence Pie - you must have one especially if it's chilly outside) we had a great time. It's an informal place, suited for dinner with friends or drinks and a snack before heading out for more.
We had a couple of tasting plates (I loved the little gnocchi) and a couple of drinks, it wasn't inexpensive but I felt it was good value. Especially with Lorenzo (?) guiding us along for food and drinks and also giving us some recommendations for things to do in Wellington (eg comedy festival).
We'll be going back next time we're in Wellington.
