My second time here, but first time in a few years. Remembered it being pretty good and saw a decent deal on wotif. It was better than I remembered. Beautiful hotel, lovely furnishings (ok, I love art & motorcycles!), nice staff. Room exceeded our expectations had everything you could want, we could have lived there for a few weeks! So you think that nothing can be that good? Well, our only complaint was that as part of our deal we were delivered a "do it yourself" espresso cocktail mix and one of the ingredients was a coffee type liquor (I think) that had an impossible to open top. Consequently it ended up all over Beth and the floor. That's all that was wrong!

We booked an Executive Harbour View Apartment for a weekend away in August expecting to be treated to a pretty special place. Whilst this hotel boasts a very good rating and a very opulent lobby/reception area, unfortunately the apartment accommodation neither met our expectations or the price we were initially quoted.
General maintenance of the unit was lacking which meant we had to stay for two nights in a very hot and stuffy unit with malfunctioning air conditioning, poor television reception and other minor issues which is why we have given this a low rating.

In fairness to the staff - they were attentive and handled our complaints in a very professional manner. Unfortunately they were unable to do anything about improving our comfort as we were told they were fully booked due to the rugby, but did offer discount on check-out. We have since been contacted by the hotel management offering further apologies which is appreciated.

Second time I've stayed at the Museum Hotel and this time was even more enjoyable as I got upgraded to a suite.
Lovely big room with great facilities (spa bath wonderful).
It is in a great location in Wellington, handy to cafes and restaurants, as well as Te Papa where the conference I was attending was located.
I adore the art in this hotel, along with the good service from the staff.

Very unique hotel. Interesting art as well decor. Room was clean. Internet was at cost but reasonable but also fast. Food at the Hippo restaurant was good but nothing special. Location is close to art galleries, the museum, and a good number of restaurants and pubs all within walking (and safe) distance. I would stay here again for business or pleasure.

We stayed in one of the apartments for 2 nightsMaster bedroom was in a balcony with floor to ceiling windows. Blinds did not shut out the light and room was cold. No hangers for towels and the sheets and towels were changed after 1st night. NOT environmentally friendly.
