The room was newish and had a cool lighting theme and because we are both business people we stayed in an executive room with a Nespresso which was a nice touch.
There was an iPod dock (win) but it didn't feature the new lightning pin so was useless to us. There were also no plugs near the bed. It would be great if these could be built into the bedside tables. I have seen this in other hotels.
The lift down to the main drag is really convenient except is stops at 9.30pm so you had to walk for miles up a hill to get back in after a night out. Be good if this could be 24/7.
We ordered room service from the 'Night Walker' menu - not sure why it has this silly name. It was okay but was annoyed that the curry wasn't available and also would have liked a club sandwich and maybe a dessert option. They did offer ice cream with chocolate sauce but as I'm not 6 years old this wasn't really appropriate.
Staff were really friendly and room service came quick. They will bring you a bucket of ice but no ice tongs.
The Novotels are mid-scale and pretty much do what it says on the tin so you can't complain too much, it will be interesting to see what Accor does with their Sofitel property when it opens next year.
Oh and because I am Accor Advantage Plus I got a chocolate bar - well better than a kick in the head, but would have preferred some drinks vouchers.
