Owner description: Free, one-hour guided tours of Parliament operate every day on the hour. Take a tour with one of our trained guides to visit key parts of Parliament's buildings and learn about our parliamentary processes, and have an insight in to New Zealand's history and culture. Tours operate seven days a week with the first tour at 10am, last tour 4pm. We recommend you arrive least 15 minutes before the tour departs as tour group sizes are limited and so you have time to check in your belongings. Everyone must leave their bags, coats, phones, cameras and other electronic devices in secure storage at the Visitor Centre in the Beehive. Individuals do not need to book. Groups of 10 or more are required to book their tour in advance. Specialist tours are avaiable on request but must be booked in advance.

“Control Central!!”
Reviewed 10 July 2014

Great experience to stand a the top of the steps and see the cityscape stretching out below. The hour-long guided tour is too long for a young family. Also disappointing that the mosaic at the top of the steps had not been cleaned and was well-coated with bird droppings and dead leaves - SHAME!

“Informative and Fun!”
Reviewed 6 July 2014

We went for the tour and it was a lot more interesting than I thought. We got to see different parts of the parliament buildings and hear about its history and how they are being used today. The guide knew a lot and did well answering all our questions. I really enjoyed it and totally recommend it. Great for sightseeing on a rainy day! Plus it's free.

“nice district”
Reviewed 6 July 2014

And the northern end of Lambton Quay you can find the parliament district. Here you can take a look at the "beehive" parliament and the older buildings surrounding it.

Apart from that there is not much to do but it is close to the bluebridge ferry and the station.

“A quick visit”
Reviewed 30 June 2014

After leaving the "cake-tin" in Wellington after the Warriors v Tigers NRL game, I had a few "hours to kill" before meeting up with a friend for dinner. So "popped" across and visited the Beehive and before, Old St. Paul's over the road. A pleasant and enjoyable afternoon was had. History is such a marvelous experience to enjoy.
