Went here for a girls night (4 of us) and used the entertainment book voucher so good value. Food very good though portions rather small. Attentive service. Nice atmosphere but the night we went - oh so cold (inside not out). We sat in the window and had to keep our coats on which should have been a clue to the staff. A heater on site would have been appreciated. Also a note to others when I received my credit card bill the restaurant was called 'Roxy Theatre and Cafe'??? I thought I had my credit card stolen! Eventually I realised it was a.k.a Cuba Street Bistro. Is this actually legal to trade under an entirely different name? So do the people that run/own Roxy Theatre in Miramar also run/own Cuba Street Bistro??

We ate here both mornings we were in Wellington & we sure will eat here the next time we are in Wellington. We ate here 5 years ago & we enjoyed it then so took our friends here on this trip to Wellington. It was two shops down from our hotel & it gave us the best start for our day. The breakfast lasted us all day & we did a lot of walking around Wellington. The staff were very friendly & the lady even remembered our orders from the previous day. Having that happen makes you fell special. Well recommended.

looking for dessert & coffee - others had shut, but not Cuba St Bistro - welcomed us in for dessert & coffee and ended up having nightcaps - no hurry to be rid of us and it was well after 11.30pm. Tops up to the manager of this establishment

This restaurant is worth a visit. Four of us went there one Friday for dinner. We didn't have a reservation however took a chance and were lucky. The decor was pleasant and warm. We started with garlic bread which was tasty. The waitress was obliging and asked if i would like to try some wine that I wasn't familiar with. For my main I had panfried groper on risotto. It was delicious. Our group had baked salmon, fillet steak and a pork dish. Apparently the steak was very good as was the salmon. The steak was supposed to be accompanied with a potato gratin but the restaurant were happy to oblige with fries and aioli instead. We also ordered a side of vegetables. The pork whilst tasty could have done with some sort of gravy or jus. We all had dessert. Afogato, apple and berry crumble and date and ginger pudding with butterscotch sauce. We were happy with our house of meals. There was an acceptable wait between our mains and dessert and no one had room for coffee afterwards. The bill was just over $200 which was reduced because we had an entertainment card. The service by our waitress was mediocre. I had been to this restaurant on a previous occasion for lunch and remembered being very happy with our meal also. Not fine dining but definitely a good place for a meal.

What a great little restaurant. Went there with friends for Wellington on a Plate and it was excellent. We will definitely be going back.

Our meals consisted of Spinach, ricotta and goat feta fritters with Beetroot relish, Mushroom risotto with basil pesto, almond and Pecorino cheese, English Hake with minted baby potato and spinach mussel veloute, and the Burger Wellington contribution of a Randwick Beef and lamb patty with tomato, lettuce, brie, Otaki beetroot and aioli, with hand-cut chips. A taste sensation.

The staff were friendly and helpful and the atmosphere great.
