Owner description: Take a walk - Every day at 10.00am, Walk Wellington gives you an excellent introduction into this exuberant, walkable city and its people. Our guides have a deep knowledge and love of Wellington and enjoy helping to make your visit an absolutely positively fantastic experience. Walks take two to two and a half hours. We walk every day except Christmas Day and Good Friday, rain or shine, so it's best to dress to suit the weather. During the summer (December through March) take advantage of Wellington's long days with an evening walk on Monday, Wednesday or Friday at 5.00pm. Walk Wellington tours leave from the i-SITE Visitor Centre 111 Wakefield St at Cuba St, adjacent to Civic Square. Look for the guide in the bright, green vest! Our stand is just inside the doors on the left.

I booked the WalkWellington because I wanted to learn a lot of the city, Wellington and also the history. The tour with the guide was nice and I learned a lot. I was the only person in this tour but it was still nice. Everyone how want to see all important buildings and want to learn over the history could book the tour with WalkWellington.

Our walk was with John. We were on the first walking tour starting at the railway station to give close access from cruise ships. John gave a very informative tour of Wellington and obviously had great pride in his city. Highlights were seeing the Supreme Court and going under the Old Bank Shopping Arcade. We also learned many interesting stories of the history of the city and background of the outdoor art projects. I recommend this tour to independent travelers who love background knowledge on the culture and history of Wellington.

Our guide, Stella, was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. The distance covered was a 20 minutes walk but the 2-1/2 hour tour was too long to hold my husband's attention. Even so, I certainly recommend this walk tour. So glad I took the tour!

We arranged a walk tour with Marcia for our day in port on a cruise. It was a great way to see the main sights and learn a bit about the history, culture and interesting stories about Wellington. She also took us to a few real hidden gems that we wouldn't have found by ourselves such as the supreme court, surely the most beautiful court room in the world. Great value for money and enjoyed by all the group, this tour made Wellington one of our best stops on the trip.

We did the tour with Jenny. She was knowledgeable and very nice. The best way to know the city and it's history when you don't have much time. We recommend to do it on the first day of your stay so you can decide what other attractions to visit on the rest of it.
