“Good location”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 August 2014

The hotel is in a good location from the city centre, it takes around 15 mins to walk. Car parking is free, but spaces are limited. The staff were mostly friendly and helpful, although one or two seemed a little stressed, one woman during the breakfast service seemed extremely flustered!
The rooms were clean but basic with not much room. The hotel seems in need of some renovation, the walls were in need of painting and the lift seems to be from the 70's!
However, this was a reasonable stay overall with reasonable prices.

The hotel is next to Cuba Street and few minutes away from the CBD and the Waterfront.
We will discuss your review in order to emphasis on the importance of getting our rooms refurbished.

I am glad however that you found the room clean and the staff friendly with some reasonable prices.

We hope you will choose Leisure Inn again for your next stay in Wellington.

A little disappointed with this hotel. Tiny room, only one pillow, not enough duvet and needed a lick of paint. Saying that, it was comfortable and in a good location. Breakfast was fine too. Ok if you're only staying a night or two and want to be walking distance to Cuba Street

Dear Guest

We appreciate your feedback posted on our partner website.
I am surprised that you did not get a second pillow and will address this directly with our houskeeping team. We do have extras on request and we encourage our guests to ask the reception for extra pillow or blanket.

We are currently reviewing the options for our coming refurbishment and will inform our valued customers of the decisions taken by the Management.

I am glad that you enjoyed the hotel location as well as the breakfast.
We hope to see you again in Wellington.

Kind regards

Our package deal included free parking and breakfast each day, so this hotel was very good value for money spent. The hotel is very well kept, but the furniture is tired. The chairs in the restaurant, lounge and room need replacing.
The service was excellent. Our stay was 6 nights, so we met a lot of staff. Every staff member was helpful and friendly, always with a smile.
Overall we were happy with our stay and would stay here again.

Room Tip: Choose away from main road if you don't want road noise

Stayed here for the weekend with my husband. Our initial room was uninhabitable my husband had to leave room straight away as very small and claustrophobic. We were upgraded expecting a lot more but much the same bigger room but very old furnishings lamps water stained dirty bathroom flakey peeling walls and roof. windows that open with a small latch and no air con. Reception lovely but as soon as yr in the hotel you know what kind of hotel yr in. Staff lovely and free parking but rooms below average

Overall I was unimpressed by the quality of this hotel. The room we were initially given was noisy due to the traffic below coming from the busy road and the bed was no where near a queen size (which is what I had booked). We were quickly given a different room on the other side of the hotel which was much quieter. The room itself was reasonably spacious for the price, however there were several signs that this hotel is in need of a make over. When taking a shower the water filled up extremely quickly in the bowl and leaked out of the side onto the floor. The blinds were badly stained and need of replacing and there were random nails in the bathroom walls, see photos.

Staff were very friendly,we arrived before check in they looked after our bags for us which was great, the rooms were a bit old and tired and the elevator was a bit scarey but apart from that was a good stay was worth that money.

The Leisure Inn is a well-managed property of the StayWell Group. Their staff is one of the BEST hospitality staff in ANY NZ hotel.

This particular property is located just North of the CBD at the top of Willis Street near Aro St.
This spot is a bit away from the hub of the City but the rooms come w/ FREE parking -- a luxury at most downtown hotels.

If location is not an issue and you are taking yoru call to Welly, this hotel is economical and certainly away from the noisy late-nighters in most of the CBD on weekends.

Room Tip: Upper floors for quieter nights -- always a good tip in any City hotel
