“Very welcoming and thoughtful hosts”
Reviewed 17 January 2011

A very good spot - a period house, tastefully furnished, in a convenient but quiet location only 5 mins from the centre of the city.
The hosts are very well travelled and understand what visitors need to know, as well as going out of their way to be helpful (eg a short sightseeing drive around the city on arrival, driving us to our restaurant in the evening).
Nice courtyard (weather permitting) and delicious breakfasts.

The superb hosts looked after our every need and treated us like friends. The accommodation was very comfortable, clean and pleasantly furnished with well stocked fridge etc. On top of this there were gourmet breakfasts and lots of help and advice with activities and transport. I can recommend Mount Victoria without any reservation.

Coral and Bill are outstanding hosts and go out of their way to ensure you enjoy the best of Wellington. Although we stayed in more luxurious accommodation during our 5-week tour of NZ, this B&B was one of the highlights. Coral took us on a short tour of Wellington when we arrived, and Bill dropped us off at the ferry terminal on the morning of our departure. They both chatted away over complimentary drinks and nibbles before dinner. You feel genuinely welcome in their home - Kiwi hospitality at its very best!

Carol & Bill are very good hosts and Carol's breakfast cooking is excellent. My room was comfortable and the bath good. Central city views were poor for my room. However, I had a good time and Carol was very helpful with a message I had to do in hurry and came with me for guidance. I would definitely stay here again.

This is a really hidden gem in the middle of Wellington. The rooms are small but immaculate and very comfortable beds. The hosts, Coral and Bill are the best part. They went out of their way to show us around the city and the lookout at the top of the city..We enjoyed drinks and "nibbles" for happy hour each evening before we went out for dinner. Breakfasts were eggs to order plus continental. The house is an amazing refurbished 1920s in the heart of the city-5 minutes from the museum and dozens of restaurants. It is worth the stop in Wellington, which was surprisingly a charming little city.

On arrival at Bill and Coral's very central yet quiet B&B our car was parked in their garage and we were taken for a tour of the city and up Mt Victoria to get our bearings and enjoy the views. After a quick clean up it was then time for a glass of wine and some very tasty nibbles before being pointed in the direction of a couple of good places for dinner. Breakfast was excellent, we enjoyed the house specialities. It was just like staying with old friends, two nights was not enough. Bill very generously allowed us the use of his computer to do a bit of emailing.
