I stayed here for two nights last week in the middle of winter, the room was freezing, the clapped out heater only worked now and again and my colleagues didn't work and fell off the wall. This is in need of refurbishment, and I wont stay here again if I can help it

Room Tip: If you have to stay here make sure its in the summer or find a different hotel

Thank you for your feedback. We apologize for the lack of heating in your room. We have had maintenance repair the heater and it is now working to its full capacity. For future reference, there are spare heaters available at reception. We do hope you give us the opportunity to redeem ourselves in the future.

After being impressed with this hotel on a previous visit, I decided to return here again on my next visit to Wellington.

As mentioned last time, the decor is in need of refurbishment in some of the rooms. That said, there is everything there that one would expect for a city room in its price bracket.

Unfortunately this time around, the excellent breakfast inclusive rate wasn't available. The weekend I visited, it was cold in Wellington overnight, and I found the heating in the top floor room I was assigned very inadequate. There was only an economy wall panel heater. These are a good option in budget conscious homes to take the winter chill off, but I wouldn't expect to see them in a hotel room, as in this particular case, it had zero ability to warm the room.

All and all it's still a good basic choice, provided it's not winter, and if you can get a good deal on the booking sites.

Thank you very much for your feedback.I am disappointed you did not experience the same level of service during your recent stay. Our extremely popular breakfast deal is not always available subject to our occupancy. It has been a cold two weeks and we have installed extra heaters in the hotel along with extra blankets and new electric blankets. I am sorry you still felt the cold. Our reception always has extra heaters available so please feel free for future stays to ask at reception for extra heaters as always very happy to oblige. Thank you again for taking the time to post your comments.

My son and I stayed at the trinity hotel for 4 nights.
We loved it! the room was nice and warm. the bed was comfy the breakfast was epic , the staff were cool as! and trinity hotel is just where you need to be! minutes from everything!
only down side was the lack of tv channels?
just install freeview on the sony bravia's ( I worked at sony asia pacific ) these TVs should come standard with an inbuilt freeview tuner...
other than that 10/10..
ps I see a lot of talk about this hotel being loud ... and it is but its central wellington,,, turn up the tv and move on!

Room Tip: upper levels for the win

We are very proud of our 3.5 star centrally located friendly Hotel and do our very best to ensure our guests have a fantastic stay with us. Thank you for the tip on the TV! We will definitely look at this as an option. I am not sure if you sampled our Eclipse Restaurant so if staying with us again, please ensure you do, it is sensational! Thank you again for taking the time to comment - we do appreciate it.

We stayed down in wellington for only a few days and the time that we were we really enjoyed our stay at Trinity Hotel. Being smokers, the smokers area was really good, good coverage from the rain and good heating system. We even had a room close to the road and we had no trouble at all with it. Although the room was small it was really nice and cosy for the two of us. Nice and close to shops and te papa, and a quick drive to the airport. Overall really enjoyed our stay here and the hospitality of the staff that worked here. Staff were really helpful and interacting which made our stay here even more enjoyable!

Room Tip: we had a room on the top level close to the road and had no trouble at all, so whatever suits you :)

A couple of nights in Wellington with my grandson - school holidays so peak air fare prices but well worth it for the excitement of his first plane trip and the affordable hotel a great help. Hotel small and friendly, very comfortable beds, warm room, very nice restaurant downstairs. Easy walking distance to Te Papa, cafes, cable car and of course shopping. Quick and easy drive to the airport. Will be back for sure.

Room Tip: We had side room which was very quiet.
